So today I had to return a craftsman circular saw to my brother in law that I borrowed. It was in a case so I thought what the **** take the bike. So I bungee corded it behind me and started for his house. I'm not one for the back rest look on bikes, but as I leaned back a little to make sure the case was still there, it felt amazingly comfortable! I rode the rest of the way over to his pace leaning on the case and I couldn't believe the difference in the ride and feel of the bike. So now I am in the process of looking for a different seat. Raven_Stryker11 has the seat I want but Mustangs website isn't cooperating! Someone else had a seat I like also but I haven't had any luck digging it up in the forum gallery or post. I want one that doesn't raise the ride height but has a back rest, doesn't matter if it has the passenger back rest or not since I already have the Cobra backrest. If anyone sees or knows of a seat in this fashion please let me know part number/manufacturer etc; thanks!

go to cli max and order the mustang vintage touring with backrest, it lifts you up about 1 inch and it scoots you forward about 1-2 inches it is very comfortable and what I did was that I put highway pegs and y lean back against the backrest and stretch my legs against the highway pegs. I feel like I'm in a recliner chair with my legs up. Cli max is the cheapest place I've seen the mustang seats

Corbin Seats: http://www.corbin.com/yamaha/ystkr11dte.shtml

Mustang Seats (Also what I chose):http://www.mustangseats.com/Product...g-Studded-with-Driver-Backrest-Yamaha-Stryker

Or: http://www.mustangseats.com/Product...g-Studded-with-Driver-Backrest-Yamaha-Stryker

Where you buy them is totally up to you. I have been checking, or rather WAS checking, with Ultimate for their new line of seats. But they dont have anything yet for the Stryker. (http://www.ultimateseats.ca/yamaha.html) With the Stryker being such a new model, you will be somewhat limited on who has something to offer. But from everything Ive seen, Mustang and Corbin are probably going to be your best bets.

Here's the Corbin on my Stryker. I don't have the backrest in this picture, but it attaches in literally one second, which I love, since I use it on long trips but don't like the way it looks. You can see the little tab on top of the seat that covers the hole that the backrest post goes into. When I park the bike, I pull it out and put it in my bag.

Ratboy, Galo8 says the Mustang seat moves you up and forward, how does the Corbin seat compare ride wise? Does it move you up and forward as well? I really don't want to be moved forward or up it would defeat the purpose of the forward controls by pushing myself forward.

Ratboy, What swing arm bag is that? Looks nice and seems to fit well.

I really like the way it looks. Was thinking about getting saddle bags, but this might work, and is less bulky. Does it interfere with the passenger foot peg? Looks like they are about $150, is that right?

Shame on you Boolshot...no hi-jacking! J/K alot of us see things in other post we never saw before...

So by the looks of the prices on seats I think I'm going to attempt my first DIY mod. I'm going to look into using a car headrest as a backrest. I know car seats have the locking mechanism in the seat to hold the head rest and some are adjustable...so I think a trip to the junkyard is in order. I have a couple options, either flat bar adjustment or dual rod. Older Cadillacs have the flat bar and Hondas have the dual rod mounts that are close together. If anything I will end with a couple holes in my seat and have to go the expensive route and buy a new seat anyway.

Sorry about that. I thought about it after I had posted. Good luck on the backrest. I will be keeping an eye out to see how it turns out.

All good my friend, I'm hoping to get this mod done real soon as I go back to work soon and will be riding 60 miles a day round trip.

I didn't really notice any change in the rider position from the stock. It is very comfortable once you have broken it in.
