Yeah, Most of them come with a small prayer on a tag. They are supposed to keep the bike safe and what not....or provide an annoying noise as you ride

The bell as well as the angel is to keep you safe from harm. It must be given to you and put on your bike to work. You can not buy one and put it on yourself. Christian belief

meant to add that as well the actual thing behind it is you can by it yourself but if someone gives it to you the strength is doubled. My wife gave me mine so i'm double protected ;D

I pulled over an old vet one night that was on his way to LA riding his panhead and then they were going on a ride from LA to Washington DC to the Vietnam Memorial. we got to talking bikes and he asked me if i was a vet as well and i informed him i was indeed a disabled vet. when i told him this he reached into his saddle bag and gave me a bell. he then went on to explain what it is for and how i should put it on my bike.

Good for you. A very nice gesture from one vet to another. We can never thank our men and women in uniform enough for what they do for us.

A buddy of mine bought me a Guardian Bell. Here is the info that came with it.

Guardian Bell

Legend has it that Evil Road Spirits have been latching themselves on to motorcycles for as long as there have been bikes on the road. These Evil Road Spirits are responsible for mechanical problems and bad luck along a journey.

Legend goes on to say that by attaching a small bell onto your bike, the Evil Road Spirits will become trapped inside the bell where the constant ringing drives them insane, making them lose their grip until they fall to the ground. (Ever wonder where pot-holes come from?)

Legend also has it that the mystery of the Guardian Bell carries twice as much power when it is purchased by a friend or loved one and given as a gift. Show someone how much you care. Offer them defense against the Evil Road Spirits! Give a Guardian Bell and share the Legand of Good Luck it offers to a motorcycle and its rider!

Hope this helps!
