i have been looking at my stock exhaust and the diagram i found online and since I dont really like any of the aftermarklet exhausts out there, I think I might try to make my own mods to it. Im thinking about taking it apart where it goes from the header pipes to the canister and buying a turndown tip long enough to get a big city thunder baffle into and just putting that on. What do you guys think or have you guys been thinking about anything else? Just looking for something for the time being until some more options come out. Thanks

I just took the mufflers off tonight and wow that is loud. Gonna come up with something and definitely gonna keep it so i can go back to stock if i dont like it. Figure for the baffle and a tip ill spend the $100 and save myself a couple hundred or say nice try anyways.

my tip was 3.5 with a 2.25 inlet i just used a piece of 2 inch pip flared the end and sliped it in through the insid of the tip the flare held it in then just welded around it the 2 inch pipe sliped right over the factory head pipes and i used the stock clamp and gasket that came of the muffler u cant se the weld because of the heat sheild.

Did you make a support bracket? I was looking at the exhaust close up on mine, and looks like the factory mounting bracket must weigh a ton, that thing is huge. I know several people have done there own exhaust, just not sure how they are supporting it.

the tip i used was much lighter than factory but yes i did make a support bracket its hard to see and i dont have a good camra but if you look real close u can see it in this pic it is just a piece i cut off a mufler support bracket then i ran the factory bolt in the bottom hole for the factory bracket held the muffler in place and tacked the support to the muffler then took it back apart and finished the weld and painted

Thank you. It is very hard to see in that tiny picture. I think I got the idea. A guy at my work is going to be helping me build one I think. It's great to have a place to get the do's and don'ts. I look forward to seeing what Stryker11 comes up with.
