Decided to go ahead and put on the LM front fender, before paint, just see how it would fit....

It really seems off to me at the bottom......One side is really really close to the tire/rim, might even be rubbing if there's any wheel wobble, while on the other side there's at least a 1/2" It seems off to me, I've tried loosening and re-adjusting but it comes out the same when tightened......
The top side seems off too, but at least it doesn't appear to be rubbing.......

Is there a secret to this installation.......it seems easy enough.....

Anyone else notice this....

Mine was the same way at the bottom. I also didn't like how low it went so I trimmed it at the first mark so it was lined up with the angle of the chin scoop. It seemed to fix it but I could also just have gotten used to it, not sure which lol.

I feel like i abandoned her. I ride her and thats about it. I dont go in the garage to play with her or stand back and just look at her anymore. lol
Now that the body is perfect for you ...jump in the mechanical mods ... those are endless and so rewarding ;)

I was considering purchasing the fender, but with all the issues - maybe not. Has anyone contacted LM and let them know about the misalignment?
I've have no regrets purchasing mine. I checked it a few minutes ago and mine hasn't been rubbing, although it comes close on the right side when the bike is leaning on its stand.

I sent them an email letting them know of my issue, they responded back very quickly.....not necessarily with a resolution yet, but it was good to get a rapid response via email.

I'm going to install it again tonight and send them photos for the their review. I was in such a hurry this morning that I didn't even look at the underneath side of the fender to see if I could see where the rubbing was actually occurring.....

Just quickly put the old fender back on, so I could get to work.....

I initially had some rubbing with my L&M front fender, had to install some additional washers to even out the spacing on each side,... but I'm not digging' on the rubber "bushings" they sent to use as they're too soft in my opinion and when snugging up the bolts, they don't work as I want them to. I'm going to take a trip to the hardware store and replace the washers + the supplied rubber bushings with some sort of harder plastic type spacer. That way once I tighten down the bolts, the necessary spacing needed to even out each side will remain and not change once bolts are fully tightened.... I just hate knowing I have several washers in place to do exactly that. ::) Once I find something that works well, I'll post up the details.

Interesting that you had a similar issue.....
Did LM send you bushings?
What thickness? I'm thinking of stopping by home depot on the way home from work to pick up a few different sizes....

They sent with my fender, instructions for the installation along with the rubber washers and a small delay of loctite.
I cannot tell at this moment how thick the rubber washers were since they're holding my fender on at the moment and they're squished from tightening the bolts down. I'll get something from the hardware store this weekend probably then I'll update with the provided rubber washer thickness, and with the materials I end up finding to do a better job with mounting my L&M fender. Here's the instructions that came with mine if anyone didn't get instructions with theirs along with the rubber washers and loctite.....

Yeah, I've got the supplied washers in there, and stopped at Home Depot and bought some additional spacer washer to compensate for the removal of the brake hose clamp bracket, I've spent hours in the garage trying to re-align it with different types of washers, and positions, but can't get it to stop rubbing, almost though......but when I roll the bike and turn to the right I keep rubbing on the side that is close, very noticeable rubbing.

Needless to say...the wife is pissed that I seem to spend every night in the garage........

Going to send a few photos to LM and see what they say......i think the left side bottom section is slightly bent in, which is causing the rubbing....
