LM Lowering Spring for Sale

I purchased an LM Lowering spring during the Group Buy. I was planning on adding a 240 Tire and using the lowing spring with it. With all the other mods I have done, I will not be replacing my Stocker this year so I am putting this spring up for sale. I paid $118 Shipped, if you didnt get a chance to get one during the group buy and dont care to wait till the end of the year for the next group buy, I will let this one go for that same price $118 shipped.

Just curious Bozzly, why not put it on anyway with the stock tire?
I have contemplated that ratboy. I currently have the pcs links at 1" and I love it just where it is, I am flat footed at that drop and really have no desire to go lower. When I set the links to 2.25 drop, I hate the way the pipes look so low and you can see the rear axle nut so that option is out the window for me, just dont like the look. I do plan to add a 240 at some point which will raise the bike up .5 to 1" higher and at that time I figure i would add the lowering spring and remove the pcs links to get back that .5" and hopefully be pretty close to the stance I have now. So to add the spring now would drop me .5 more than I care for at this point, its all about keeping the bike even stephen where it is now. I hope all this made sense. It is pretty funny that you ask me this question because since no one really jumped on this I stopped by my local mechanic shop on the way to work today and asked him how much he would charge me to compress and remove the old spring from the shock. I am thinking about just doing this over the weekend on the stock tire as you stated. Really I was only putting it up in case someone missed the group buy and I would just buy another at the end of the year, hence no break on the price point I paid. We will see how froggy I feel, I am also concerned about how much work it will really take to do this mod.

Ok, now it makes sense knowing that you also have the PCS links. I got the spring in the group buy but haven't put it on yet. Getting to the shock is a PITA and I don't have any way to compress the spring, so I am going to have a mechanic do it soon.

I thought about getting it. I got one of the springs for my wifes bike with the last group buy and it worked great for her. It gve her a little more grip for her feet. I love the way the looks with the lowering spring and thought about getting one for my bike. I put on the 3" forward extensions, and figure if I drop the back end it would make it a little tigher for my legs again. But I would love the look...so I am really on the fence. I figured I can wait until the winter group buy and see what I think then. I figured someone woud have jumped on the offer right away. I guess you never know.

J&K is that the stock tire on your wifes bike? If it is can you post a pic of it from the exhaust side? I want to see how low the exhaust looks with the spring. I get hung up on some of the smallest things but I can't help it or change it now. lol...

Hey ratboy, I called beach Blvd motor and they wanted something like $120 to compress it. Next Door to open road leather, which is the next parkinglot, is another cycle shop and they did it for about $20 and it took all if 5 minutes. Granted the spring isn't on there tight till you put it on the bike. They say it shouldn't be that way but whatever, just don't take the spring in with you.

Yes that is the stock tire. I'll get a pic Friday evening when I get home from work. I don't think I have any pics looking at the exhasut side right now.

Here are a few pics for you Bozzly. And just to clarify, I placed a block of wood under the copper bike's kickstand for the pictures but I did not have the wood on the blue one with the lowering spring. With the lowering spring, the bike doesn't lean as far on the kickstand. So I placed the wood so the overall view would be similar. Let me know if you would like any other pics.

J&K, Those pictures look great and the way you did it makes it very easy to see the differences in the stances. Now I have another problem, I am going to need you to switch the spring on to your copper so I can see if it will look as good on our copper as your wifes blue.... ;) jk... Thanks bro

That looks real good.......Your pictures really show the difference.......appears to be lowered by more than 1"
I need to get my L&M spring installed. Need to either figure out a way to safely compress old spring and reliably perform the install myself, or pay to have it done....

Low and Mean Lowering Spring is a 1.5"

Thanks guys. L&M says it is a 1.5" drop but I just measured it and there is a 2 3/8" difference between the center of the rear axle and the bottom of the fender above it. I thought it looked more than 1.5". Now we have her spring set on 2, and I'm guessing mine is on 4 (stock), I don't know if that would make any difference. With the different spring we had to make it a little softer to get a similar ride to stock.

Problem is Bozzly, if I buy your spring to try it out, then you would be without one. I'm just not sure what I want to do. I REALLY like the look of it (my wife is all excited about it), but since I have long legs I don't know if I drop it, would make it more uncormfortable in the long run. If it didn't take two hours to change it out per bike, I would try to it.

If you decide to put it on, take some pics and let me know what you think. I have Scootmods 3" extensions on mine and that helps a lot.

We had the local dealer do ours and it was two hours to do the entire job. Getting the top bolt out is a total PIA, that's why I didn't even want to try it. I figured the Yamaha guys would have a better idea. I sent them the L&M installation video so they knew what it was going to take.

Replacing the spring is the easy part as long as you have a shop press. I barely paid more than $120 to have the entire spring installed. I think compressing the spring, removing the top and putting the new spring in place is probably only a 15 minutes job max....if you have a shop press.

Yes I was lucky to have the shop press and J&K- I'm sure the different shock settings between your bikes is where the extra 7/8" drop is coming from.

J&k I thought when I looked at the pic it seemed to have the same stance as the pcs links lowered at the 2.25 drop. I just thought it was the angle of your pic but since now you actually measured it to be a hair over 2 inches, I know it's not the picture angle. Honestly I am not interested in dropping it 2 inches, just not my preference. I like it as it sits now at 1inch. I think i am going to stick with the stock size and the 1 inch drop.
