What is the loop thing under the bike that is always getting in my way when I go to jack up the bike? It looks like maybe a hold down for the shipping box or something. Do we even need it or do you think it would be ok to cut it off?

I'm at work now and don't get off until 2am. Its right beside the flat area under the bike where you put the jack to lift it in the air. If it isn't far enough over it screws up the rubber on the jack.

We need a pic but I think Im on the same page as you ,yes its the bottom of the shock assembly, I don't see any reason that could not be cut off as long as you stay flush with the bottom plate and don't take out any welds.I'm sure there is some reason for it but I will never use that part.

It's most likely for a center stand that they didn't put on. I'm guessing they had it planned and didn't have the clearance, or use the same frame for another model?

If you cut you a couple of slots in a 2x4 like a jig, it works well with my small flooor jack. Just an idea.

Why put it on a lift? Don't have to to change oil.

I used that spot to hang my Gemlin bell. Only place I could find to put it.
