just wondering if anyone can tell me if it is possible to lower the RPM at idle. I find that when I am sitting at a red light my bike sounds like it wants to take off because it is idling so loud. if it is possible can you tell me how or point me in the direction were I could find the answer.

Thanks

Just curious , did you change the grips? If so the cables could be too tight.
Yes or not enough freeplay in throttle cable at idle.

I haven't changed anything on the motor the only thing I did was drill out the baffle back plate on the pipes. I think it is running at its normal RPM because it did the same thing when I purchased it, I just think this is the way they built the bike. I just wanted to lower the RPM to make it sound better when I am stopped.

thanks

The factory idle is between 950 and 1050 RPM but it sounds much higher.. Now there is a way to lower the Idle and give it that "off beat" idle that many older carburated bikes have.. If there's enough interest in learning how to do it I will consider starting a new thread explaining how.
