I'm 5'7 and weight about 165lbs even though my feet touch the ground when stopped I feel that I'd be more comfortable if I lower the bike 1 or 2 inches, i've seen some forum topics about different lowering kits but would like some recommendations on the matter. What is the best lowering kit? and is it true that when you lower the bike you also have to change the suspension? any recs would be appreciated.

I think if you read through all of the various threads on this topic you'll find plenty of recommendations. That's what i did and how i came to purchase my lowering kit.

I'm 5'8" and have the PCS links on the 2 1/4" setting and i love it.

For those that have changed out the stock spring for a shorter one, how difficult of a job was it?

Do you have to take off the exhaust? A friend if going to do mine, but he is a chopper guy and isn't familiar with the Stryker.

Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

I did the pcs lowering links with the pcs progressive spring. I have it set at the 2 1/4" setting and just did a 90 mile ride 2 up and never did bottom out and the ride wasn't ruff.
I'm 511, 265 pounds.

I got the pcs stryker slam kit..

I got the L&M lowering spring for my wife's bike. She's about 5'-6" but put on a solo seat which is wider than stock. So her legs are just on the edge if she stops on loose material. I figured this would drop it 1.5" which should make it ideal for her. It's a surprise for her. I'm going to put it on and then she if she notices when she gets on the bike. Hopefully she does!

Is that 265 total or just you? Also what size rear tire are you running?
I'm thinking of the same package and need to carry about 340-350 total on a 240 rear tire.

265 pounds is just me and i'll GUESS she was know more than 120. Currently in still on the stock 210 tire, but future plans are to move up to the 240 tire. Im usually a solo ride 85% of the time, but when the ladies want to ride on the back, who im I to say no to their request...... ;D ;D

Did you notice a huge difference in the kick stand position? I have had to lower all of my sport bikes and have had a good bit more lean toward the kick stand side after lowering. And did you keep it on the 2 1/4" setting after you added the 240 rear tire.

the kickstand lean is no problem at all. also, i've not added my 240 yet...it's sitting in the garage waiting for the stock 210 to fully wear out.
