Brent, What do you change to lower the Stryker? Is it the whole shock? The dog bones?

We just do the dog bones.

Be aware, the dog bone work good with the stock tire. But when someone changes to the 240 on the stock wheel the tire will hit the frame when the stock compresses. We know this because we made some as well, check the shock length and measured tire circumference on stock, 240 tire/stock wheel and 240/8.5 wheel. Stock tire circumference is much smaller!
We produced a replacement spring that not only lowers the bike but offers a very nice ride. Sorry I don't want to see you get into trouble with the dog bones, they are easy to change, but not the way to go if you put the 240 on, which most people will since it fits and looks good!

Got my bike today and am thinking of lowering it. Will altering the suspension change the height?

Like the sound of the different spring just in case I have to fit a bigger tyre.

No worries Jan....You can go either route...just the dog bones are easier to install and cost less...and if you go with a avon 240 there is no worries about it hitting bottom...like most things people have opinions...but I honestly see no reason to do the spring. Yes the drop changes the height...umm that's the point of a drop. I think it makes the bike ride better than stock...lower center of gravity and all.

Good question. I would like to see this thread continue with more comments and opinions especially from those of you that have done or will do this mod. Because I also will lower my Stryker and put an Avon or Metzler 240 on as soon as I wear it out. And if the weather keeps co-operating that will be soon, as I have had it 5 weeks and got over 2,500 mile on it.

Using dog bones and the 1" drop... has anyone with a 240 had issues with the tire rubbing? Like what L&M says...

I have the Avon 250 and dog bones. 2 in drop rubs and 1 in doesn't. Different tire brands have different diameters so that would make a difference too.
