I just installed the Baron lowering link kit# BA754000 from Dennis Kirk. Kirk # 583525 . I wrote up my install in the How to threads. I also tightened the spring preload, two steps from max.
PROS:
Easier to throw your leg over getting onto the bike.
It doesn't lean over so far on the kickstand, and its easier to bring upright
I immediately noticed how much easier it was to maneuver the bike around reversing it and using my legs. (huge difference) I feel more stable when I am in gravel moving it around also.
As far as the handling, it still handles fantastic, I haven't noticed anything worse about it. I feel more laid back with the lowered saddle height. I feel cooler now too
I have not bottomed it out at all yet. I weigh 180lbs.
I will test it with a passenger soon.
It looks soooo much sexier!
I still haven't scraped while cornering
CONS:
A little bit stiffer ride
More ugly swing arm showing. (people with stock pipes won't notice)
In all i would say DO IT! Just making the bike easier to walk around and easier to upright makes me give it two Thumbs up!
