Im thinking I really like the look of these bikes lowered an inch or two. Couple questions for you guys that have done first tho.

1) Does it change the ride? IE stiffer suspension.

2) Which kit did you use and how did you like it? Ive seen 2 types online. One is just a flat plate with 3 positions and the other looks like 2 pieces of all thread thats fully adjustable.

3) Should I just bite the bullet and get an air ride kit?

Now heres the stats. Im 6'1" and 255lbs. (Big Boy) And my bike drops an inch when I plop my big self down on it.

What do yall think???

I like the 1" or 2.25" option, I thought I was ok with the 2.25" drop even when I put the Metzler on. Well, at the 2.25" drop I scraped pretty bad two times on my way home. I adjusted it to the 1 inch drop and left it alone. I have not had to worry about it since.

Or with the adjustable links, you might be able to go 1.5" or 1.75", and have the best of both worlds. ;)

Just make sure you search through this site really well on lowering especially if you are deciding to move up your tire size to the 240. There are some precautions you need to take when lowering. These bikes bottom pretty easily if you lower and have a bigger tire. Research, Research, Research or ruin your tire, your choice... LOL...

Ill prolly stick with a 210. Weak I know.

Mikoleo whats a Metzler?

Ive also noticed that my pegs seem to drag pretty regular. Im betting lowering it will make it worse. Today making a left turn I had my foot under the shifter and when the peg drug and folded up I accidently up shifted.

Another thing to watch out for. I have the Soupy's, nice product. Lowering the rear to much can lighten the front enough to cause a violent head shake under the right circumstances. I had mine down about 2 1/2" and it happened to me at around 65-70mph. Bad enough I wasn't sure I was going to save it. Had to go home and change my shorts afterwards!

No it's not weak. The bike actually handles superbly with a 210 on it, that's the way it was designed. Even lowered 2.25. There is someone on this forum that changed back to a 210 after a 240 because he didn't like it. My wife says she likes the 210 better also. Now that I have two Strykers, one with a stock 210 and on with a 240 I can tell you there is a distinguishable deference between the two . Raised it back to 1", had it lowered 2.25" but bottomed out to easy. I'll have to agree with not liking being stuck with only the two options. Gona put the PCS links on my wife's bike and get Soup's for mine so I can set it at 1.5" or 1.75".

Could you explain more about "liking the 210 better". I've had the 240 and 1" lowering on wish list and have not heard this before. The 240 certainly looks better but what ride differences are there. Thanks, Don

I have the 240 now AND the Soupys links, lowered about 2" from where it was with the 210 on it.
The Metzler is a taller tire so it's profile is much more rounded than the stock 210.
It initiates turns perfectly whereas I always felt I had a slight flat spot to overcome with the stock Dunlop 210.
Lowering the bike by 2" with the 240 has realistically only lowered the bike by about 1.5" because of the slightly higher, more rounded profile of the Metzler.
I highly recommend it!
The bike handles (IMHO) MUCH better than it did stock although I do feel deep grooves in the pavement a touch more than before. I'm used to it and really don't give it a second thought now.

The tire fills the whole fender now so I got rid of the "Motocross" look it had stock!

I had moved the tail light (custom LED Integrated) farther forward under the fender so it was completely under the fender but quickly realized I had to move it back aft to the point where it sticks out about 1/8" in the center and 1/4" at the corners.
A speed bump showed me it was too far forward about 100 yards from my driveway.
I replaced the bolts that bent and rode away, no damage to the light itself!:thumb:
