Hey guys

I bought the slam package from pacific coast star. My bike is lowered about 2" and I was wondering how big I could go on the back. I ride 2up as well on occasion. Just looking to see how big in th back you guys go if your lowered.

Thanks

Chad

240 Avon is your safest choice. Dunlop and Metzler are slightly higher profile.

I'll re-post this for you new guys.

Metzeler: 240/40R/18 = 25.8" tall
Dunlop: 240/40R/18 = 25.91" tall
Avon: 240/40R/18 = 25.5 " tall

Dunlop: 250/40R/18 = 26.2 " tall
Avon: 250/40R/18 = 25.8" tall
Metzeler Does Not Make A 250/40R/18 Tire

I did'nt think we go with anything bigger than a 240... Will a 250 back tire work on the Stryker?

There a a few of us that have the Avon 250 and Dunlop 250, I have 8" rear wheel, but others have done it on the stock 7.5" wheel. Many on Raider forum also which uses same rear wheel as Stryker. Metal upper guard can be used without cutting for the 240- Just install 1/4" of spacer between the guard and mount with the bolts. Many have done this also. Lower belt guard will have to be heavily notched as I did or remove altogether for a 250 to work.

My concern was the tire possibly bottoming out in the fender under hard bumps with riding 2 up. That's the most weight I will have on the bike so I need to factor that in as the worst case senario. The 250 will ride in the fender and clear under load?

Stick with the 240 on that stock rim and play it safe Friend.
