I passed the 3k on the trip to see all of you in Chicago. It was a great feeling hitting that 1st 1k.

Assuming you did all the break n period stuff properly? Break in period was scary for me, as I actually had never even owned a new vehicle - so i was a little shocked that it even existed.

Getting close to the 3k mark. But I really only get to ride on the weekends. The rest of the week I am on the train. :(

Yep took care of that Monday after our trip around 900 miles. Always bothered me that the "little" chips are floating around for so long especially in the MC world since the oil lubes the engine, clutch and transmission. Seems to me there ought to be a way to get more of that junk out at the factory but then again cars are the same way.
Next season I'll do the oil change myself and switch over to synthetic. Like my dealer but their up-charge for synthetic is more than what I can do the whole job for!!

I just hit 1K this week as well. I did the oil change at about 700. I notice a random high pitched "ticking" since the oil change. Runs fine, no missing. It is odd because it is so random.. kind of like change in the dryer. If that makes sense. Anyone else notice anything like this?

I noticed that same noise after my first service and they used 20w50. But soon after that I drilled pipes and removed cat and could not here it now regardless LOL

I have a very loud pipe. Can't hear it when moving. When it is idling is when I hear it. A guy at my work used to be a service writer at a Yamaha dealer, and he has no idea what it is.

That's the ticking !!! Looks like I need to take a trip to the dealer. Now the Weston is ... Are they going to give me **** for having a pipe and gman? I wouldn't think so, since dealers install programmers and pipes.

Boolshot - I have the same ticking and because it's not 100%, my dealership would not touch it. I've just gotten used to it, as it does not hurt the bike at all. I have Vance and Hines now, so i can't really hear it anymore anyways :).
