Q: Is anyone running these tires & if so how do they compare to the stock Bridgestones? Handling: ,Wear & Mileage, etc. Are you running a 240 rear in them? I have a friend who has them on his newer Harley & he thinks they really handle good & are sticky, the online user reviews, 500 reviews, are 99.4% positive over Dunlop, Metzler, Pirelli night dragons, etc.

The 240 Michelin Commander IIs just came out so there are only 2 or 3 of us with them so far. I love it. It is too new to know anything at all about mileage yet. I've had mine on for almost a month. It handles like a dream and corners better than ever. It will increase the height of the bike a little, but you can lower the bike to compensate.

I have Commander II s both front and rear on both bikes now and absolutely love them. 240 on the Stryker. There is a night and day difference from the Dunlop E3 and even over the ME 880.. Have 2,500+ miles on the 950 and it shows absolutely no wear. Only 400+ miles on the Stryker so ? We rode 30 miles of dirt and gravel on mountain twisties and never a loss of traction. awesome tires.

That's awesome to hear. I'm a BIG Michelin fan. Do you know what the physical size difference is between the CII and the Avon? I hear the Avon allows for a bit more clearance over the other 240s. I would love to have a set of Michelins as my next set, though.

Not sure of the exact dimensions but am sure the Avon is the all around smallest out of the 4 brands. The Michelin I believe is the widest and may even be as tall or taller than the E3. Metzler is wider than the E3 but not taller.

Thanks to your input ! I was just ready to order Metzlers but there are a lot of negative comments on the net where on Michelin it was 99% positive so I ordered a set today including 240/40-18 rear FYI: a set w/240 rear is $375.98 total w/ free shipping thru Motorcycle Superstore.

WOW, My YAMI dealer tried to sell me one for $235. $300 balanced and installed. I went ahead and did the METZ 880 again, and I would do it again. I wouldn't rule out the Commander II...Let us know how that works for you.

Put @100 miles on the new 240 in some good curves . Grinding pegs and still have the chicken strip on the tire . Soooooo much more stable in the corners I agree with you guys they should come with the 240 stock . The extra belly of the tire is like night and day in the twisties . Crazy how just a tire can make me love this bike that much more :)

C II s rock. Have about 2,000 miles on them now. Did an 800 mile trip last weekend through 6 national forest and 3 mountain ranges. All mountain riding. Lake Tahoe, Lassen National Forest to mention a couple. A lot of twisties. Of course nothing different from where I live except better paved roads and a little more stretched out :thumb:

So I did a couple more 800 mile weekends and a few other rides.
Update on My C II tires.
5,400 miles and at the wear bars on the left side and almost every other place, Most of you would replace it at this point. However I am holding out until it looks closer to how the Metz did at 4,800 miles so I can get a fair comparison. That should be another 4 to 500 miles so I can say I got 1,000more miles than the Metz
So I'm looking at not even 6,000 miles off the Michelin rear which equates to 20% more than Metz and almost double the miles from Bridgestone.
The front tire is looking brand new though . 10,000 miles I should get from that one. That's double what the Metz front got.

toby ... what is the wife running for a rear tire? I assume she gets similar mileage out of tires?

dreadly.. she is still running the first stock 210. near 3,000 miles already. Bought it August 3rd. So 4 weekends of riding plus a few short rides in between. I have 9 weeks on my C II. :frown: She looves this bike. Her tire is at the wear bars on the sides but has plenty of tread on the center. She my get another 1,000 miles off it before it becomes unsafe for these mountain roads.
She does ride like a pro in twisties:wink: The tire tells. lol.
So here thoughts after riding on both, my 240 and here 210, she likes the way the 210 handles better in sweepers. She will be putting a 210 on again. It really does transition back and forth easier than the 240 but, my bike even lowered 1", I have just a bit more clearance before hitting pegs.
With the 210 you are actually on the edge of the tire before hitting pegs.

Yeah I want to keep to the stock 210 size. If I get 4 to 5k miles off the bridgestone, I will keep putting bridgestones on it, since they cost less and I doubt I would get any better mileage out of a metzler and the C II's don't come in 210.
I still need to get a lowering kit... I want it down just 1 inch. Then I won't be on my tip toes when I have to bring it to a stop n stuff lol (or when I put the bike in reverse ;) )

Correction on the miles on my C II. I had 4,400 miles not 5,400 Now I,m at 4,800 and it's pretty shot but looks smoother than the Metz did and not squared off either. Still has grip too. I'll take pictures tomorrow. Wife's not going to see 4k off the Bridgestone.
At this point I'm considering car tires again simply because I can not afford two rear tires every two months or less. Even if it means we have to ride slower at least we will be able to ride. So Dark side here we come.

Does anyone down south, Florida, Texas Gulf Coast, other gulf coast states, have any regional use data on the Michelin C2?

I'm in Houston, TX so, 100+ summers, high humidity, mostly flat terrain, mild winters?

I'd like to know how it's working for conditions similar to mine.

I'm in Central Florida and I've been running the CII 240 for about 2000 miles now, and there's no visible wear at all.

But, I also got almost 12,000 miles on the stock 210, which according to other forum members, is fairly unheard of. So, I expect the CII to last for a LONG time.
