I was going to buy these:

My main question is that the space between the handlebars and the tank are about an inch or so when we turn them fully from left to right. Would these even fight on there, without scratching my tank?

Nice Nogard but those about about the same size as what we have on right now. I would rather find something smaller of a bullet type about 1.5 " in diameter.

They are bright.....one fellow told me a little hard to see in daylight due to rake of forks. Angled a little up rather that straight on.
