Hi everyone,

I picked up my Stryker exactly a week ago! So far, I love the black beast. I already cleaned up the back end of the plastic stuff since the poor thing looked like it had a pampers on. I already ordered few goodies to give it a little bit of personality as it will be an amazing platform to customize in the next few years to come.

To be honest, this is my first Cruiser/Chopper style motorcycle. Like many of us, I grew up with dirt bikes, breaking bones, scrapping skin and getting laughed at while missing jump’s landings. We were not playing around with PlayStations in those years. Don’t get me started, but anyway …back on the subject. Still not convinced that I could one day get killed on one of those, I later on jumped on few racers. I owned a GSX-750, CBR 900 and a CBR 929. Few years ago, I loved pushing that 929 at Laguna Seca while taking few racing courses. Those were my fast years. I had my share of late cops chases, babe hunting and Tim Horton’s goodbye burnouts. I know, I was young and dumb. Don’t remember me that since my mother happily did that for you guys. She was right and I was stupid …but go figure I was lucky enough to survive all of this to only keep good old memories.

Now at 39 years old I can still push the racers close to their limits, but I wanted to ride something that is fun to ride without having to go extremely fast. But I still wanted to get something strong enough since you usually do not switch from a Porsche to a Minivan. Coming from a racer world, the Stryker delivered as promised.

The Stryker gives me that feeling of freedom just at cruising speed, what I was not able to get on a racer anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I am not attacking race bikes here, I love those. But I was ready for a new feeling that I found in the Stryker. I admit, just hearing that large V-Twin while cruising on twisty roads, and I am installing that dumb smile on my face that only my ex-wife is able to get rid of. I can even wave at the cops now, because I don’t even have to fear them anymore … well … until I get an aftermarket pipe. My ½ inch drill is beside me as I write this down. Just a “do it” from one of you guys and I am running out with a power cord in hand.

So I will slowly modify my Raven … one week at the time … to get myself the perfect match. For sure, my girlfriend will get jealous of it … you all know the song. But I think that I will manage to get both of them to like each other soon enough. Then we will share good moments in the years to come.

If you are from the area let me know, we could go for a ride on a sunny afternoon!

I am leaving you with the amazing Intro of the movie “Harley Davindson and the Malboro man” … the joy of riding…

This is not idiot at all ... This is in fact the reason why forums exist in the first place. To exchange ideas, get help and share the passion : : 8)
