I know this is not a Honda forum but I purchased a 98 Honda XR100. I purchased this to teach my wife how to ride a bike and then pass it off to my 10yr old so that he can learn and have some fun in the fields.

I didnt realize when I purchased this bike that the clutch pull is very very hard, So hard that my 10yr old cannot even pull the clutch and my wife was complaining after about 15 minutes that her hand was hurting and could not continue the lessons I was trying to teach her.

After doing some research I have determined two things, One is that the XR100's inherintly have a hard clutch pull, the second is that I probably need to replace the clutch lever and perch since the guy I bought it from said he replaced the lever and it looks as though it is not the right one and is causing some cable bend when pulling the lever. This in itself may alleviate some of the hard pull but I do not believe it will be enough.

Has anyone used one of these Moose Racing Easy-Pull Clutch Systems? or have an idea on how I can make the clutch lever pull easier? It even had my hand in pain after a little bit. I'd hate to have to put this bike right back up on the market because my family and I are just too weak to pull the dang clutch lever in.

I have not used the system you are talking about. However a friend of mine has a Honda Rebel and she had the same issue of a insanely stiff lever. I adjusted the clutch at the grip to the max and then at the transmission and also found that the clutch cable was routed wrong which over stretched the cable. I would check to be sure the cable routing is right and then make adjustments at the grip then transmission if needed.

Thanks Visionary, I found that the clutch lever and perch seem to be the wrong one so I am replacing that and also the clutch cable, so I will ensure the routing of the cable when I replace it. If that doesn't ease it up then I may give that easy-pull system a try.
