ok so this summer i never really got a good long ride in so i dont have a take on the mileage per gallon. This coming summer i'm taking a good long trip, and i would love to map out my gas station stops. i have two good stretches where we do not see a town for at least 50 miles apart. does or has anyone know exactly how manny miles i can take to a gallon on a warm bike?

it would be nice to see where to fill up and plan. thanks guys.

Well, I can tell you one of my first rides I had no mods but I did have my baffles removed completely and had 1.4 miles to empty and I had ran 111 miles. I was running regular unleaded and I had been running 2 up, so I don't know if this will help you.

first off.. ooops. guess my subject line should have been mpg.

second, thanks Dan. i appreciate that.
thing is i have the cobra sweeps. no tuner yet. didnt know if that would affect the gallons per mile much. i'm sure it cant be that much off of your take danny.

Lol, no problem bud! I would imagine without the tuner it would be pretty comparable. Also, it was within the first maintenance so I know the oil is a bit different then. I would imagine all the variable would influence the mpg! hey, after your ride can you please post your results!? Just curious as to what they are!

Ive got the cobra swepts no tuner and have gotten as much ad 130+ on a single tank, realky depends on how hard im riding. Did a 3000+ mile trip this last fall. Best bet is to stop every 100 if you, can once that light comes on youve only got around 20 miles till its dry.

OK... I'll probably get some flak for this one.... I have the Cobra AutoTuner... V&H Twin slash staggared... Cobra PowerFlo intake.... when riding solo... I get 36mpg.... 2 up... 30mpg. these are based on my recent riding in fairly cold weather. And it matches the fuel gauge/ trip Odometer pretty close.... after I filled the bike up... I ride until the 1st square goes away... I look at the the trip odometer... usually somewhere around 37.... next square... around 72.... but when doing the math... it comes out 36mpg solo.

I have heard on here about people getting 48mpg... wish I did! But honestly... don't push past a 1/4 tank.... rodekill is right... cool as **** riding.. people say "dang! look at the hard mofraki!!!" when you are pushing it they say "Dang! look at that fool that ran out of gas!!... keep driving Ethyl... he's a dangerous biker..."

I have no mods other than drilled baffles. I have gotten near 50 mpg /200 miles before fill up but let me stress that this was extremely careful riding almost at idle keeping it in 4tth and 5th gear as much as possible and costing a lot on down hill stretches. I did this for the purpose of testing maximum mileage. When I filled up it took 4 gal. The tank holds 4.1 gal including the reserve tank. I then did a test by riding it hard and fast racing in lower gears and up mountain roads. It took 3.96 gal at 100 miles /25.25 mpg. So there you have it. Use RoadKills rule of thumb and you should be fine.
