Today I changed my front fork springs to Progressive, temp was 56 out and I had not tryed new solo seat out yet, so I decided to just ride bike over accross town to the shop to try them out. Did that and then rode out 8 miles out of town to visit with my Parents. Salt on main roads was not to bad. Love the seat and Progressive front Springs. Found that both forks had different oil levels and wonder if that is why when I could push down on forks while holding front brakes- my L&M front fender would swing over and hit tire. Does not do that now.

That's great! I also got out for a ride today and tested out my suspension more then just the ride home from the brother-in-laws garage. What a amazing difference in the front. I cut my front spacers a little longer then the top of the tube while fully extended, the bike now wants to stand up in corners rather then squish down and roll over. I'm loving it! Oh and by the way, you were right I really do like the one lower shock/spring, it's crazy how just that one inch makes it feel so much different.

Need your help

Hate to barge into your thread.

Is it possible you know the contact people at the sister site (Raider)?

My attempts to register to purchase a Raider that is for sale on their site and my registration attempts are non-responsive so I registered here.

Can you help me?

I noticed that my front forks looked like they were slowly sagging( Compressed) since I bought bike, So i measured Son's Stryker and found it was true. Now after installin- I got my stock height back. The wire size of the Progressive spring is a few thousands larger than stock spring, and longer by 2-1/8". And with the way they are made they give a softer ride for the little bumps and progressively firmer the more they are compressed. The stock spacers installed above the springs have to be cut down as I did ( I shortened mine by 2") or use PVC pipe the right diameter and make your own. Kit comes with 1 pvc spacer, but is not long enough for 2 spacers needed. Hope this helps Shane.

ok, I tried to do a little research on the progrssive front springs, what is the biggest difference as opposed to stock?
One of the things I like the most is, it doesn't dive when you have to come to a fast stop. You feel the suspension compress slightly then almost stop and begin to push back rather then dive in and out quickly. In corners I always thought the bike felt like it would kind of collapse so to speak where as with the progressive suspension it evens out quickly and is ready for the straight quicker.

I did a How to Install post, and like 11 I used the stock spacers and cut them down. I called Progressive about the spacer being to short and it seems the same springs they use in other bikes fit ours and they never bothered to add different spacers to the package.

How many miles do you have on your bike? Just wondering when I should be looking for spring sag. Seems kinda soon for a 2011 bike.

Yeah 11 this is a great thread, thank you. I plan to install the Progressive springs ASAP. I have just about completely burned off the stock tires and am getting close to putting on the Avon 240 + matching front, but I’ve decided I will install the Progressive springs before changing out my tires because I am extremely familiar with how the bike handles/feels right now, this way I will be able to completely recognize the difference in performance the spring is giving.

Is there a particular website that you recommend ordering the Progressive springs from?

11 – thank you for being the first to do this mod and share it, as with the 30 tooth pulley – you are awesome!
