I pulled the outer cover off the air box and tied in the filter and went for a ride. About 10 miles. Same amount of decile popping as before with the Cobra Slip-On. Ran like it did with the cover on. Plenty of power and zip. Only difference I noticed was a deeper note from exhaust. Sounded very good. Little quieter when running at a constant speed. Still louder when I got on it.
This is not a K&N filter and not sure it would make a difference.
I have an idea for a air box mod and wanted to see if I was going to need a fuel manager.

I actually thought about doing that, but lost interest. I just can't see myself spending 200 bucks or more for a cold air intake system. Looking foward to seeing your outcome.

Kinda workin on a filter set up like this. Saw this at auto store and figured it might work.
