On july 28 i bought new 2013 Yamaha Styrker, and i absolutley luv the ride on it.:tongue:

on the other day me and my frnd were drivign to VA on our motorbikes, me on my styrker he is on Triumph rocket and i feel like yamaha has got way low power thatn the Rocket but its just matter of 1000cc difference.
Styrker is 1300cc and Rocket is 2300cc. I had very hard time reaching 90mph whereas him reached 90-100mph in a couple of seconds.
While driving at 90mph, i feel the tight vibration on handle bar and on pegs too and i felt quite dissapointed. I always wanted to drive at high pickup and reaching to high speed whenever i want but within a limit and my target was to reach 120mph on my bike, looks like it will stay as my dream.

last month i'v rented HD V-rod which is about 1256cc but the pickup speed and cruising speed are stunning, on 2nd gear i can reach 50mph and i hit like 115mphs on V-rod wheres as on Styrker i can reach 50mph on 3rd gear whihc is not so exicitng.

Do u have any idea is this normal for all strykers? and i was suspecting that after 1st service will the pickup and power would increase little bit ?

Rocket and V-Rod are two very different animals from the Stryker/Raider ...

I don't really beat on my bike, but I had no trouble keeping up with my buddy's 2010 Harley Dyna street bob ..... I just got the bike a couple weeks ago and coming from a 180hp zx10r I am quite impressed with the grunt my Stryker has... I have a 2013 Stryker as well....a black one....maybe the black ones are faster :)

That is funny, most bikes, except for sport bikes get to read my license plate until I hit about 110 MPH.

I agree that those two r different bikes but here im comparing V-rod with Styrker. Stryker has 50cc more than V-rod but still its way slow than V-rod. Have u ride on V-rod, if u do then u probably agree with me.
My concern is why styrker has low pickup

Only had about 200 miles on the bike yesterday early am...feel bad running it hard...lol.. My buddies Dyna has full vh exhaust intake and programmer.... He certainly didn't expect my Stryker to keep even with his for the first 3 gears before I let off... And that was definitely not close yo redline on my bike... And that with just a cobra slip on.... I look forward to putting bringing this bike to redline a few time in the near future.

I dont shift into 2nd until around 40ish and ride that up til 55.. never tried 65 but doesn't seem that hard to get to..

bigger question here is if you bought a bike to do 130-140 why did u buy any cruiser at all?

put some aftermarket stuff on the bike and it will make it faster

I have to say I have no complaints, before I left the dealer I bought a cobra slip on and that shaved some substantial weight of the rear of the bike and defiantly helps the bike breathe and I also bought the low and mean fender eliminator kit and installed it yesterday all before 130 miles on the bike....with that being said I love the look, sound, stance and I am impressed with power of the bike all stock from the factory ( with the exception of just a slip on)
Coming from being a sport bike rider and this being my first v-twin I think the bike pulls hard enough, nice long gears and sounds mean!! And again I have only 300 miles on my bike so I am not beating on it excessively...just running at 3/4 of its potential... When I hit 500 miles or so I will start putting it through its paces....

Also, As far as shift points go... I feel like more often then not the bike should be in a lower gear, like the engine is lunking.... You can tell this bike wants to rip...I shift comfortably out of 2nd gear around 45... And if I am getting on the highway in 2nd I will pull it out to 55-60 easy.... And the bike isn't working real hard to do that.... I can only assume with this bike broken in, exhaust, intake, and a programmer this bike will be Naaasty!!

The VROD is the Red Headed step child of the Harley line up. It's engine was designed by Porche engineers and has no heritage to the Harley line. It was basically designed as a sport bike inside a cruiser like frame to be sold at HD shops. I am pretty sure every 1000cc sport bike and many 650cc sport bikes will smoke the doors off the Stryker in 0-100 and top end speed. Engine displacement numbers are only one factor in determining torque, horsepower and power to weight ratio. If you want more off the line I recommending doing the 30 tooth pulley change that many members have done. The Stryker is geared high we presume for maximum fuel efficiency. More info can be found here http://www.yamahastarstryker.com/18-mods-accessories/7185-front-pulley-change.html

That being said. Your are new to the forum and everyone is welcome especially new Stryker owners. Oh congrats by the way. However, I am not intending to be rude or anything but it seems based on your first post you did not get the right bike for the type riding you want and are missing the concept of a "cruiser". If you looking fufill dreams of "high speed whenever you want" go trade the Stryker for an YZF-R1. Don't worry about the price difference if speeding is your concern and you are new to riding , you probably won't have to worry about making a second payment.
