My Son got a new 2011 Yamaha FZ6R on Monday morning. Got his Learner's Permit on Monday afternoon. He bought the right color. Pretty sad for me that this 600cc inline 4cylinder has 6 more HP than my Stryker and only weighs 424 lbs. we are having alot of fun though!!

Not really comparing apples to apples, do like the bike!
I know, but not like comparing a Urinal Mint to a Peppermint Patty either!!! My son is extremely happy with it. It shifts and handles so easy. And lots of power to boot. Great first bike for him. He thinks my bike is cool, but is thinking since I own a cruiser that it must be an old mans bike LMAO. He is only 19 and I'm 50! so he might be right in some respects.

My son had his eye on the fz8r first then noticed that this one was 1000.00 less. His FZ6t came with fairings and the FZ8 did not.

The FZ6 is a bad azz machine. Fast enough for anything on the street and it handles great!

But I'll have to admit I traded my 2007 FZ6 for my Stryker :D
I had Two Brothers undertail exhaust and metzler m5's on mine. Would go 50-130mph in a flash.

Hey V8, My son has seen those 2 brothers exhaust also. He wants more noise and better performance and especially Looks. Did you have to do any other mods such as Air Cleaner or Programmer?

That was the only "performance" mod done to the bike. It ran great with no tuner. I would say it lost a teeny tiny bit of mid range power but it gained it back 10x above 8000rpm. It was a little loud after a while (drone on the hiway) but Two Bro's makes "plugs" for the VALE type mufflers so you can tune in the note you want. The two big magnesium end caps looked awesome. AND they make that setup in a carbon fiber can which would look neeeeeeeeeat on your sons black bike (IMO).

Mine ran out of steam at 143mph and wouldn't push any harder. I think if I had a tuner on it it would go a little more. Buuuuut I'm guessing as a father this is more than you want to know ;D
