Anybody knows what paint will be appropriate for the black exhaust heat guards. I scraped mine the other day and I dont think the matte black paint from the frame is gobna work there because of the heat. Any sugestions?

I have painted my heat shields and full exhaust on some bikes with high temp header paint. I think they make it to withstand up to 1200 degrees. I think you should be fine with the 500 degree stuff. On my last bike I painted the eat shields and it held up for two years. When I sold it I just took the shields off and recoated them. Pretty simple, pretty cheap. Just check the temp rating and follow manufacturer instructions.

I used VHT on my cobra swept heat shields. good up to 2000 degrees. no problems with it so far after 1k miles.
what kind of primer did you use? Same vht?
yep, took 1/2 can of the primer and almost all the paint to coat my swepts. just make sure you follow the curing instructions, it's most important part of any high heat paint application.

Biggest problem with painting STRYKER BLACK exhaust shields is that they are ceramic coated... paint does not like to stick to ceramic... it will be OK for a short while... but after heating and cooling a few times.. the paint will begin to flake and peel. I tried several times to fix a blemish on my original pipes... even scuffing them up with fine sand paper... short of taking it down to bare metal... never lasted more that a few miles before it flaked off.
