So, wanting more sound from the pipes, I bit the bullet and started gutting. I totally removed the cat. I blew the pipes out with compressed air after working on themReinstalled muffler and there is a god awful vibration when the throttle is rolled on. Thinking that that there is a lot more airflow coming into the pipes, I went ahead and did the four 1/2" hole thing in the back of each muffler. It sounds a little better, but the tinny vibration is still there. Could this be the baffle rattling inside? Should I punch out the end cap on the baffles?

After reading how much everyone liked the sound, I went forward with this and it sounds like crap!! Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated!!

Most only drilled the baffels. A few hammered out the cat, most saying it was real loud? Make sure you dont have any loose pieces. Other than that I don't know what to tell you? Mine are drilled sound good, still have cat.

Yea I think you went about it backwards, should have drilled the 4 holes and if you still didn't like the sound then go for removing the innards.

i gutted my exhaust completely. One thing I did was drill out the baffle itself by taking a 1" hole saw and long extension getting straight down the tailpipe. The thin layer I cut threw got caught up and taking forever to get out, I removed most of my cat and baffles completly.

Mine always had that little rattle. Went away after it warmed up. Even does now with the cobra slip on.

After drilling the 8 holes... I was shocked at how easy it was and how good it sounds.... I sure hope my V&H sound better
