So this is for all the guys and gals that, like me, prefer to rock a full face bucket. The helmet I currently have (cheap fulmer) seems like it has a ton of wind roar. Very noisy. What helmets do you all wear or have used that may cut down on that? Also thinking of adding a bluetooth unit with the new helmet purchase.

Take a look at the AGV Horizon. I currently ride with this helmet. Has a drop down Sun visor, light and comfortable, built in place for Bluetooth speakers and Mic wiring. The airflow is absolutely awesome, and it looks great. Revzilla has a good video about it. Cost about 360 for it. Of all the helmets I have used this is my second favorite, but feature wise it's my favorite. My favorite helmet was a Suomy but that was for sentimental reasons.

Np. For what you sound like you want it for this would likely be a good helmet for you. I like not having to carry and extra face shield for night/day. Probably has the best airflow of any helmet I've used. My prior helmets include Arai, Suomy, Scorpion, and AGV. Arai was too round and short in the nose to be comfortable for me so Suomy Scorpion and AGV fit my head better.

I like the channeling built into my Horizon for BT, it's a nice feature and the drop down sun visor is just awesome.

I have a mirrored shield which helps with the coolness factor!:thumb:
It's only slightly tinted so I can wear it in the dark.
The flip down tinted shield is great for real sunny days and I don't have to carry sunglasses.
I think I paid about $200 for it.
It's light, just over 3 lbs and the peripheral vision is really very good.
All different types of graphics available plus good old matte black.:nod:

Hey 11, never actually rode with a half helmet but most full faced one that I've used have quite a bit of roaring from the wind. Looking for one that is quieter.

Same helmet I've got. I love it. Little wind noise. Flip down sun visor. Mine has inflatable cheek pads so you can pump it up to snug the helmet up once you put it on. I highly recommend it!

Got the same as AR that I picked up off Amazon for $150 w/ free shipping. The wind noise is not bad at all plus it has an air bladder in front and back you can use to inflate cheek pads on either side to conform to your head better. The only thing it doesn't have is a place for bluetooth. You are right about that 11. Once I went to the full face from the half, my stock pipes sounded so much better. Hahaha

Also have the EXO 500. Previously used a HJC and was like you, needing a quieter helmet. I did some research and got lots of good reports. Never regretted the purchase. The drop down visor is a perk.

I used to do the same, but all the local dealers in the past two states I've lived in all such lower grade helmets. I asked why and they said it's because the majority of those who walk in typically buy the cheapest lid they can find, making it hard for them to move the more expensive ones. I liked my scorpion helmets, I had two of the EXO-700 lids, they were a bit heavier than some of the other brands and on my last one the quick release mechanism failed when I was carving some mountain roads. Scorpion did send me the replacement parts for free, so kudos to then for that. Overall I would say the AGV I'd my favorite and I well likely buy their brand again once the Horizon needs replacing. The fabric of the AGV is much nicer than the scorpions I had, that's another thing I noticed. Airflow is far superior. I still have my blue exo-700.. I can pull it out of the closet and do a comparison if you'd like.

The wind noise is pretty dang low BUT you can "Appreciate" your pipes a lot more with it!
Honestly? for long distance rides on the Interstate I use earplugs.

Now, Try to go someplace where you can try it on because they are small for their listed size.
I usually wear a Large helmet in HJC but I needed a 2X with the EXO 500.

I could have got away with a 1X but at the time I was having a "Tooth thing" and the 1X was making me bite the inside of my cheek.
STILL, the 2X fits great even after the tooth thing is solved. :nod:

You'll have an easier time finding the Scorpion lids on dealer shelves unless you live near a really big dealer. I usually don't see AGV on shelves (it's a more popular brand in Europe, used a lot by motogp racers etc) Good luck with your search!

I ride with a Speed and Strength full face helmet. I put a tinted visor on and I LOVE it!!! The best advice I can give you is as follows...everyone's heads are shaped a little differently so what is comfortable for me might not be for you and vice versa. You should go into a good local dealer and try on several different brands of helmets. The sales associate that helped me was great. I tried on several and he explained to me how the helmet is supposed to fit and he checked fitment on each one...to my surprise I honestly had never owned a proper fitting hlepmet before. He said the sales folks at that dealership actually go to offsite training on proper helmet fitment. He advised me to go with one that felt too tight because once it's broken in you'll actually gain about half a size. Boy was he right about that...it felt tight the first few rides but once it broke in it was perfect! If i had gone with what felt right to me at the dealership it would've been way too lose after it broke in.

My scorpion exo 1000 is awesome and little noise, although I ride with ear plugs on long rides just for the comfort. Great helmet and love the flip down sun visor.
