I guess I read something wrong. I have a side mount lp plate. I thought I read that the blue wire was for the liscense plate. Just turned bike on after it got dark and have no rear running light. Guess the blue wire goes to the running light????? So which light goes to the lp light??? I knew it went to smooth today.

I believe the blue wire is your "keyed" power light. Why did you cut it? I would recommend just tapping into it...it definitely needs to go the taillight assembly.

There are three main wires coming from your taillight and 2 turn signal wires. All of them are required for your rear lights.

I'm no expert myself, but I will tell you from experience that it's best not to cut any wire unless you have to. I don't know if you've ever used those little plastic wire "taps", but they freakin rule. No cutting, taping or any of that mess.

I do know that blue wire is a keyed power source. I'm going to install some led accents under the tank and rear fender and that is the wire I will tap into. Good luck on your project....glad I could help with what little I know
