Hello everyone,
I found this the other day while doing research, as I plan to be throwing my leg over a Stryker in the next few weeks. Sooner if the wife gives me the green light.

A little background on me:
My name is Aaron, though my handle on everything is Bhasu151 (if a mod could fix that for me since I was scattered when signing up that's be awesome)
I'm from Bloomsburg, Pa; and found myself living there again, though I had no plans to do so. I was in the USMC from '99-'06 stationed at Ft. Meade, Md and did my time over in Afghanistan. I'm currently a Corrections officer with the BoP.

I'm also a father of three great kids who lost his first wife to breast cancer a few years back. Last year, I got back in touch with one of my best friends from the Marine Corps, who was a single mom to two amazing kids. We started talking again, and one thing led to another, a family meet up at her place in CDA, Id; and as of January of this year we are married and renovating an older home full of 5 kids, a couple cats and plenty of garage space.

My wife is an amazing woman, (Started our as a Linguist in the Marines, transferred to Motor-T through a series of life events, and loved it.) is better at turning a wrench than I am (I'll admit it), and balances out all my faults.

I was lucky enough to marry my best friend.

So here I am. I've wanted to buy a bike for years. I rode a lot of sport bikes while I was in the Corps, never bought one, because I knew myself too well, and figured I didn't NEED to own one.

I decided I did NEED a cruiser. I put off buying one till I bought a house, paid off the vehicles, etc, etc, etc. A few days ago, Tina pointed out that we'd done all that, so I should start looking for my bike.

I'd been looking at Harleys for a long time, but the thought of having a car payment for a bike bothered me. So one of my buddys from work told me to look at Star again. (I'd looked at the Stryker in '12, and it caught my eye)

So I went by the dealership, butt tested every bike he had, and the only one that caught my eye like the Stryker did was the Raider. Looking at the stickers made the choice easy.

So I'm basically left deciding on the color and actually buying it (getting a downpayment together, since we're tearing up carpet and replacing a floor currently)

She doesen't plan on being on the back much, since she wants a baby ninja, (She's ridden rockets for years) and I'd never keep her from that.

So that's me. This seems like a cool place.

Just traded my Ninja for a Stryker... could have sold it to her lol Well welcome to the site. I've only ridden one other cruiser (also a star motorcycle) but I absolutely loved it... wish I had kept it. I'm too old for sport bikes anymore so now I'm waiting to pick up my Stryker. Yamaha makes solid bikes, you'll be more than pleased with your purchase if you decide on any of the Star line up. Welcome and congrats on the house and marriage

Thanks guys!
That's what I kept hearing. Once I realized I could walk out the door with two bikes for what I was looking at paying for a Harley, it made it easy.
And then another buddy of ours who's had bikes his whole life (his dad owned a Harley Shop in California) told me about the ease of maintaining a Star, it was more plusses in that dept.

Totally into the idea of modding it out, but wrenching it all the time just to keep it running? I don't have time for that with 5 kids.

So yeah, just waiting for the green light to go buy it.

The sold the blue that first caught my eye, but there is this redhead i've been looking at.

Yet another welcome from the Poconos. Gonna think we must have planned it but we did not! The other guys only live about five minutes from my house. I love riding in good area and used to go to school in Hazelton... nice riding up by you as well.

Hope you enjoy yourself here.
