Finally got my handlebars custom made by StraightJacket. Had to wait a while because the dang things got lost in the mail and showed up back at his house weeks later. He offered to make a second set for me when they didn't show, but I said lets wait a bit and see if they surface. I'm glad they did. They made it on the second try, though.

These are 3" more pullback and are down just a tad from stock. At least, I think they are. That's what I asked for and it feels right; I didn't actually measure anything. I only did a quick test ride around the block, but it feels great. I have my backrest set where I want it now and my arm position is just right so I can really relax and get into the ride. Tomorrow I'll put it through the paces.

And yes I used white zip ties. Thats all I had laying around. I'll fix it later. 8)

Kuryakyn ISO grips. They come in chrome or black. Which reminds me, I ruined the left one on this project - gotta see if I can find some new rubber inserts.

Yeah I made everything reach. I dunno it might actually be better this way. Nothing is going up and over the front in big loops any more.

Kickass job Straightjacket. This is probably the coolest mod I've seen since I started following this site. Mostly because they were fab'ed by a member.

Trying to figure out a better way to secure the wires and cables to the bars? I think I can get the factory plastic holders on but not easy, it's like a nail head welded to the bar? I'm thinking of a machined bracket or something?

Yeah ok those look BAD ASS... Is the Speedo in about the same position as stock? I would love to see that GAP between the Top Riser, and Speedo shortened.. It's just a ugly blank space... Although my iPass fits perfectly in the stock bars.. was thinking of mounting there


Anyhow I think these look AMAZING!!!!!!! When the production run start? and $$$$$ HE HE HE

Well so far so good. It's like rolling down the highway in a lazyboy now. But it seems I installed them a bit crooked. I'll be working on that tonight. Maybe some kind of sleeve or something for alignment would be stylin.

I also forgot to tighten the bar end on my left grip so that almost fell off going down the road and I lost all but one bolt :'(

I did stop on the way in and got some black zip ties and a 5 cent cruise control. Bout time I got rid of that crap kury throttle lock.

The speedo position that I saw at straightjackets was just a bit higher and tilted back compared to mine.It was easier to see than the stock position. Side by side comparison was nice.

Hey straightjacket how much it cost to do the whole thing? Handlebars + cables etc... If you give us an estimate I'm sure that there will be more people interested in this awesome mod... especially the short guys like myself...

I don't even want to get involved with all that, sorry but at some point you have to get involved with a mod, and make some of your own choices? Every bar would take different cables to look perfect, and perfect to me would be different than what you like? If you want your bike to be one of a kind you have to do it.
Cables and lines can cost alot of money, if I threw out say a $500 price tag for a mod, members would get upset, but I can make a custom set of bars and you can choose what you think needs to be changed?

Mentat - I thought the same thing also, why would they not make the stock bars a tight fit? When the bars are welded the tend to pull, or tweek a little, if the tolerences were tight you'd have a heck of a time getting them in or out! Thats why I left them loose also.It also lets you align them as well.
