I'm looking at getting a cruiser to replace the Honda Shadow 750 I sold last year. I've been looking at the Victory Vegas 8-ball, VTX1300C and the Stryker.

The Stryker seems to be the best deal for a new bike and I am seriously thinking of buying one soon. My question how much is offered for the Stryker, it has only been out a few years and the parts seem to be really high.

I have found the pacific customs sight while searching for a lowering kit b/c i will definitely need the slam kit and i don't plan on running anything bigger than a 210 for awhile. I can reach the ground on it stock but i prefer to be really low, but as far as seats where besides mustang could i find one. Would like a low profile solo with a backrest.

Also what kind of prices have you been seeing, the dealer told me $9799 + ttl yesterday but I'm hoping for under 9500 otd for a 11' model and It seems it is very hard to find a Raven model still in stock....11' or 12'

Only thing I have to do is get a quote on insurance my Shadow was a 99 model and full coverage was only $30 a month. Hoping a 11' or 12' Stryker doesn't jump it up over $100 like I'm thinking.

Sweet insurance was my big worry the Vegas was going to be pretty high, I use state farm and the Vegas was more than a brand new sports car i had last year. I don't have auto insurance atm sold all my vehicles and drive my company car for everything.

I'm planning on putting $5-6k down and financing the rest for 36 months....so maybe they'll make me a deal on it. The only upgrade I'm looking to do right off the bat is the Slam Kit or maybe just the lowering kit and not the spring for now, then some handle bar risers and maybe a seat. The bars seemed really low to me and the seat puts you really close to the tank, that's why I'm searching for a low rider seat to kick me back a little.

Found this one:

but it can't be used with a back-rest which sucks- upside is it advertises 2 7/8" lower riding position, including the slam kit it should put my feet 5"+ lower to the ground hopefully.

Check around, I'm pretty sure that seat comes in a version that accepts backrests
Yea im going to keep looking around and email these people. Wish that Ultimate made a seat for it I really like their Lo-rider and Mid-rider.
Dang that sucks i liked the idea of being under 22" seat height possibly, but i really like having a backrest.

Don't know how well it would work out as far a bottoming and rubbing but you could do a 1.5" drop from the L&M spring plus 2.25" from the PCS links to drop the bike 3.75in total. You may not be under 22in with a seat with a backrest. But it should be close.
If you don't want the backrest you can drop the seat height another 1.5in with the L&M seat.

I've been reading on the 240 back tire and thought you had to have a raider wheel to run it...seeing as how it can run a 240 on the stock wheel with the PCS drop. I guess I'll be looking at doing the PCS and the Solo seat with backrest. Going to ride back over to the other dealer in town and see if they have a Raven in stock and see what kind of price there thinking.

Going to wait til The end of July to buy it so i can save enough for a hefty down payment and have some left over for the lowering kit, seat w/rest and a few other small things I've been seeing. My problem is once the mods start...it's hard to stop lmao.
Is their no handle bar risers yet?

Also what is some good things to try to get included with the purchase, with my last new bike purchase i had a helmet and first service thrown in pretty easy. Is this common and if so what else should i think of trying to have thrown in on the purchase.

Right now the deal is $300 off a 12' model or $750 off a 08-11' models, hoping i can negotiate a really good deal so i can have this thing paid off by the end of the year.

No real diff between 11/12 Stryker, except the color, and by all means get the first service thrown in. Some like to charge nuts for it. Are you lookin for ape hangers on the stryker?
No just 2-3" risers with a 1"pull back and don't so much need the pullback just want them a little higher. Also see on the 12' model they did away with the graphics on the tank of the Raven model which i didn't care for to begin with.
No t in town he has a talking them down here in town, he had a blue and a copper 11' model for $9716 which is a decent price but he wouldn't budge.

In Wichita falls, TX they were advertising the 11's for $8499 three weeks ago on CL, however I have to ride it home and that's a 6 hour drive there and 6 hour ride back. If i don't find on in a week or so I'm going to bite the bullet and make the drive if he has any left.

Emailed 4 dealers in a 2 hour radius and hoping someone else has either a new 10' on the floor for a steal or are willing to deal on the 11's.

Hoping to get one otd for 10k or under, I'll be putting $5500-6k down and financing the rest so maybe they'll give me a deal.

The dealer here hadn't even UN-crated any of the 12' models.....aren't the 13' Strykers coming into the dealers in September.

EDIT:

Found a dealer in Baton Rouge, La selling them for $8999 + ttl which would bring it up to around 9750. If i don't find one closer by the first of July then I'm riding down their and picking one up July 4th...if they still have any. It's around 4 hours away but that's a bit better than 6 and I am down there all the time for business....including next week so i can check them out while I'm down their and try to get a deal struck up.
