Hey guys... just wanted to say "hey" to everyone here. Haven't bought one yet...and haven't rode since i was 21 (now 45) and been researching bikes again. After reading thru your forums for the past month or so, getting to "know" the bike (yes I know, from reading :)) I'm dead set on getting one. The Safety Class's here are pretty booked up almost till the end of the year, but I'm trying to get in on one as a walk in...

My son had a friend that was looking for someone to buy his but he sold it before I could get to him... bummer...

So anyway... I hope to get to know you guys and until I get one, I'll be here reading all about your fun times on your bikes :) yea jealousy strike, lol.

Be safe and nice to meet you all...

Same here. Many years away from riding and couldn't being enjoying it more now. I live in Illinois also and took the course you mentioned. Go as a walk in and you should be fine. They are really strict about being on time and giving the slots away to those standing by when people are late. The sign up for those classes is in March and it seems like things come up all the time afterward that cause people to drop out.

By the way, love Peoria. Went to Bradley and met my wife there many gears ago. Get that Stryker and head up to Grandview drive for some fun roads as I recall. Good luck and have fun.

Thanks for all the welcome's guys, appreciate it. My heart is set on black for the color...to me personally, black just looks bad :) in a good way of course! Yea, I keep checking their class schedules and trying to coordinate it with my work schedule to see if I can pop in on one as a walk in... I have to vacation time coming up and trying to make the class and bike purchase all come together...

I know this probably isn't the place to ask, but I'll see what kind of response I get.... as far as mods go... what is "recommended" as the "must needs" to be done to make it more enjoyable than it already is? I know it's personal preference to us all... but just trying to get a handle on what I should be looking at...

Any input is very much appreciated.... thanks again guys... be safe to you all

I haven't done too much to mine. A couple things I did do to make it more comfortable is the Scootmods 3" forward controls. I am 6' tall, and the extra 3 inches make a world of difference. I also added the Kuryakyn swing wings pegs. I bought them for a really good price off a forum member. They are really big, but so comfortable. I haven't even used them with the wings up. They are almost like boards I think, can put your foot in many positions, just feels very comfortable. Others will chime in about seats and stuff, I don't have any experience on those.

New Seat

New Pipes - Most on this site went with the Cobra Slip On pipes, for best bang for buck

I'm sure you'll be back on two wheels before you know it -- hopefully before summer is an afterthought! No mods for me. Yet. Maybe just ride bone-stock a while and check the forum -- great folks and even better advice.

Oh, and welcome to the group!
