Hello All,

Just bought a 2012 Stryker, the Copper Orange one. Awesome looking bike. Can't wait to get it home, complete my basic training course and get out and ride. I have wanted a bike for as long as I can remember.

I have to say I am a little nervous about starting on this bike. I am 6' 1", 200 lbs .... tried sitting on 650s, 750s and 800s of various makes but they felt way too small. Even the 950 felt a little tight. The Stryker felt perfect. I know I have to respect the power this machine has.

This was my first bike period. Rode the little 250 in the safety course and then hopped on my Stryker. Just take it slow and don't do anything beyond your comfort zone. You're going to love it.

Congrats Bubba. Take it slow, learn from your mistakes which we all make. After every ride I try to inventory everything I could of and should have done better. Biggest thing I took from the basic course is to make sure you look through the turn to where you are going, the bike will do the rest. First few outings I broke this golden rule and almost paid the price for my negligence. Happy riding.

Welcome BubbaJoe. I got my license last June and got my Stryker in Jan so this is my first bike as well. You will be used to the power in no time and will soon be doing mods to get a little more punch. This is a cruiser not an R1 speed rocket so even though its a 1300 it's easily manageable Pay attention to the term "target fixation" in class. Like an earlier post I've caught myself from becoming a victim to this more than once. Knowing about it and recognizing it when it started to happened has most definitely saved me from a disaster.

Welcome from NH.... I ended up taking the license test on my bike when i first got it... wrong move because of the rake. I have been riding motocross and rice rockets since i was young and thought i knew it all. I ended up taking the BRC to get my license because i heard it was easy lets just say the class i took was very challenging because I had so many bad habits. but man was it the best thing i ever did... best of luck to ya on the 2012 and the course....

and it wont be long before you start customizing your bike... LOL...

Pick up my bike yesterday from the dealer. A buddy rode it home for me. A little bit of torture watching him ride the bike instead of me. My course starts tomorrow and goes through the weekend. Maybe if I feel confident after Saturday's class I will go for a short ride and maybe ride it to class on Sunday. Until then, my Stryker sits in the garage waiting.
