Hey all! New forum member and now owner of a (used) 2014 Stryker 1300. This is also a salvage bike, so it's a project i'd hope to get goin by spring. Coming from supersport bikes (Honda cbr600 and 1krr's). Getting too old to lay down in curves and twisties, so it's time to just cruise around. In SE Ohio, so instead of ripping up the curves and hills i'll just cruise around and enjoy the scenery :)

Anyhow, I'm looking to mod out the bike (yep, less than 24hrs after getting it). Initially i'm after the following:
-air intake
-led headlight
-front turn signals. It didn't come with any (and do I HAVE to remove the handlebars etc to install)
-fender eliminator?
-axle nut plate holder (possibly)
-led kit?
-wireless security/keyfob system
-possible battery (partial to Optima)
-Looking to change out the fuel tank (see ding) or a way to remove it and not fill it and then repaint it.
I'm also looking to replace the chrome covers on the engine. The passenger side has a bit of cosmetic dmg to it, so I may as well replace all of the pieces including the top of the heads.
Need to be pointed in the direction of a wiring diagram that I might utilize so I can chase wires for the afore mentioned lack of turn signals.
One of my main questions, is the pipes. According to the pic, are these pipes these stock on the Stryker? Again, literally got the bike 12hrs ago, so haven't started any research on it yet. I don't mind them, and will most likely keep them. Just trying to get a grasp of what I have so far.

Anyhow, I went in knowing this would be a project (I need a hobby aside from building pc's), so I figure i'd do something different. Any and all suggestions would be great. Pics would be even better or links to pics. Thanks in advance and see ya out there!

PS: No idea if its been tuned or anything. There any telltale signs for that? And the only thing I "felt" when I rode it briefly, was that in 1st gear it was a tad sluggish? It was just a quickie ride, never made it to 3rd gear, and a cold one. I read that the weather can contribute to some sluggish shifting (it's about 40°F).

I'm also looking to see how much heated equipment the bike can run. Seats, handles, etc. AND, if anyone has done a usb charging plug that's IPV6 rated mounted on it.
Side note: I've got a Galaxy Note 20 ultra cell phone, and have not been able to find a holder to mount that'll encompass this phone (in a case as well). Any suggestions?

Update: Discovered that the O2 sensor is present, but not plugged in. Evidence of an engine tune? Not finding any modules around the battery, not sure if they'd stick one under the fuel tank either. Haven't yanked that yet...

You can check the ECU (located beside the battery on the kickstand side), pull it out and see if it's got an etched identification on it from Ivan's Performance. If it does, then the ECU has been updated with his parameters. You don't need a fuel injection tuner if it's been flashed.

Don't need to remove anything to put the blinkers, if the wires are in place...
Gas tank seems repairable without filling I think.
Don't understood what you want to do with the fenders:rolleyes:
Below motor covers: I think there are (or were) something in alu/chrome for the Xvs 1300 midnight star -same motor-, I just removed mine, for the above covers, no options at all in the market, I made my covers...:)
Seem a pair of swept cobra pipes for the stryker, not OEM.
Slugginess in first gears is just original "character", more than actual HD's..., and a signal of not flashed ECU, nor whatever tuned programmer (all visible below the seat at right, Cobra tuner's place), the O2 disconnected maybe is a clue not an avidence, probably had one in the past.., but your filter is OEM..

Aall is HERE!

Congrats! And welcome!

A RAM mount system should easily handle your phone mount question. I use em on all my bikes.

Those pipes are Cobra Swept aftermarket pipes. I have them on my bike. You will either have a fuel controller under your seat (Fi2000 or another one) or you will have Ivan's Flash on your ECU as Rustyjake mentioned. Maybe you have both, as the pipes will work that way as well. You cannot just have those pipes on there without some sort of fuel control system.

I have often thought of removing my front signals and installing these Amber LED TruWRAPZ™ Auxiliary Front Fork Turn Signals or the metal version. So that's an option for ya...

Welcome, and congrats on your new project! These are fun bikes when everything on them is right. Some parts can/will be hard to come by, especially if you are wanting new aftermarket. I have had good luck with ebay, just takes some patience.

Don't think the inspection place will find those fine to run. I was looking at them online and most places state they're not DoT approved. I've ordered stock arms and lights so I can get it legal, and will probably get those or something similar afterwards. Trying also to find something in a rear fender eliminator. The blaster-x i've seen alot, but also out of stock everywhere. Speaking of the rear, are folks putting their plates on the axle nut?

I was asking about a rear fender eliminator kit. If there's one out there or not. Sure the license plate holder is nice and all, but i'm looking for a minimilist view from the backside and still have a brake/turnsignal setup.
Not as a kit but is possible to adapt one ( chopping part/all the subframe). I adapted a fiberglass one, with 2/1 rear blinkers:

I think it would depend on the inspector, most I would say as long as they flash and appear bright enough would have no problems. I use an inspection sticker plate as I didn’t want them on my fork tube, I surely had to argue with one of the techs as he tried to tell me it was PA law it had to be on the left fork only. Thankfully I did my research ahead of time and pulled up the inspection laws and he used the plate and gas from 2014 on. It takes fifteeen minutes for inspection longest part is the ride they do.
I chose a different way to display my plate I made my own mount as I didn’t like the axle one.

Hey congrats on the ride. First thing I noticed is the factory air filter. Chances are good that it has not been tuned. There's no real reason air in = air out ?? Right ? .. one thing I did on mine ( if you ride solo ) is took off the sissy bar. That thing weighs 10 pounds. No exaggeration. Also instead of the axel mount for the plate mine is mounted on the side frame . Only issue here is that you can't throw Saddlebags over . I don't know about Ohio laws but mine is vertical mount. Shoot you some pics. See what you think.

That last pic, is that an integrated rear light? As in, turn signals and brakes are incorporated? Was looking for something like that but everywhere is sold out. And that headlight, is it led and is it better than factory. Looking to replace the one that's on the bike now.
Btw, used to live in florida, don't miss it lol.

.. by the way, used to live in Columbus Ohio... don't miss it lol 😆 😂... yeah the rear is integrated turning and brakes.. can't tell you where it came from cuz it was on when I bought it. Same goes for the headlight. It is really nice and bright but again there's not even a brand name . I did an Amazon search and found a headlight that looked identical to mine . I'm sure there's others out there. And as far as mods. go , this has the Cobra power flow air intake, Vance and Hines full exhaust and power commander V on it . More torque than any other bike I've owned and that includes 2 vrods and a 2020 triumph rocket 3 . By the way what part of Florida were you living? I bought a house north of Gainesville about 60 miles south of Georgia so I get a lot better weather than when I was living in st petersburg. 😎

Yea, the plastic covers on top of the heads, as well as the round plastic covers at the bottom. Trying if possible to find metal versions and black, but its looking like they don't exist.

Oddly enough, i'm not far from there. Moved to Cambridge in 2014. Used to live in Largo, but grew up in St. Pete off of Duhme rd over by Madeira beach.

My parents still live there, and my son as well. I was entertaining the idea of taking the bike down this summer to go visit, but i'm not sure if it'd be comfortable enough to ride what, 1200 or so miles?

Well, turn signals came in today and I gotta ship em back. Never realized that the front forks have black tubing over the actual fork, thereby increasing the diameter. Sooo... I happened across a set of BT speakers with integrated turn signals. I'm gonna give that a go instead. Here's what it looks like. Comments?
