Hey all,

Just bought a 2013 stryker raven and need to make it louder. I have read through some of the forums but figured I would ask this way as well. I have been looking at the cobra slip on exhaust. At around $250 it's cheaper than doing the whole thing. I called the yamaha dealership to get their advise and the said the would have to look and it might cost more if they have to move the o2 sensor, also it might need a power commander ( I think that's what they they said) so that it wouldn't backfire etc.. I am not that familiar with bikes so any help would be appreciated. If anyone has had this done could ou let me know if it was an easy install and if you actually need the above.thanks

per the info i have learned on here you don't need a fuel management (PCV or Cobra) if you just add pipes or if you just upgrade the air kit. you only need one if you do both. pretty sure the O2 sensor didn't have to be moved either but I could be wrong. have to see if any of the guys who are running the slip on's chime in on this, they say it's a very easy install. you can do a search for this and also for drilling the stock pipes. this could save you some money if you just want a better sound and like the look of the stockers. backfiring will be more evident because the baffles on the stockers quiet it down so much.

Welcome Robert. Just installed my slip-on 2-3 weeks ago. O2 sensor stays put. Best bang for the buck and plenty loud. I don't think you will be disappointed. As one member put it, she snorts, hisses and growls on acceleration but is decent while cruising. It will decel pop and occasionally back fire. The stock muffler all but silences these. I do not have a fuel pack but as soon as I change out the air box with the powerflo pro I will have to add a fuel pack to adjust for the added air.

Don't need a tune for solo exhaust or intake. The O2 sensor is on the header pipe just ahead of where the slip-on would go, so that is no worry. STay away from the dealer when asking about mods...they don't like to be liable for mods, and then they just take your money (imho). Drilled baffles work very well, and it will pop some on decel. I have eight 5/8" holes in each and it sounds REAL nice, but I am getting the Cobra slip-ons just because I like getting stuff in the mail :thumb: (and the baffles are removable) :biggrin1::D

Welcome RobertLee- Slip-on is just like it's name. 3 bolts that hold bracket holding stock mufflers come out, and 1 band clamp where they bolt to header pipe, and it is off. Try installing Slip-on and bracket that come with it without loosening header pipes at cylinders(as instructions will tell you to do). Many on here did not have to loosen them when they did their install. I was one of the unlucky ones, but easy to do any how, Best thing about all this is the price(I paid 205.00) the sound(as good or better than any of the expensive full systems), and the cat is completely removed with the stock muffler pipes. O2 sensor stays right where it is at in the header pipe. Don't have to remove it or unplug it. Slip-on and Ride!!

Upside to the slip is that it's like going on an instant weight loss program. The stock slip on muffler and it's over built bracket are heavy and weighs around 20lbs. The cobra is like 6 or 7lbs. That's instant power to weight performance gain right there. Now I just need to lose the extra 20lbs spare tire.

Yes That's True Strykeback! Forgot how heavy the stock assembly was.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase! I highly recommend the Cobra slip-on. Easy to install and great sound! I love the look of the single exhaust, although I was looking for 2 into 2 from the start. It's a great piece:
