Just bought two new cars and both came with Nitrogen in the tires. I know this seems to be the in thing now.

Anyone put Nitrogen in thier bike tires yet? Do you think on two wheels it would be any benefit? ???

I have heard about this from several different people. Like everything, there are pros and cons, the pros being: the nitrogen reduces or stops the need to keep adding air to your tire, the tire gets better tread wear, keeps the tire more rounded, prevents the tire from getting a flat spot while sitting for long periods of time, and performs better. The cons being: it keeps the tire temperature down, which reduces the "sticky" effect to the road when you ride, may give a harder ride if you tend to run your tires a little on the low side, and the air we breathe already is about 78% nitrgoen, 21% oxygen, and 1% miscellaneous gasses.
For me, I do not see the value, but if others do, great!!! :)

there is only 2 real reasons to put Nitrogen in your tires... 1 it does not react to temprature changes nearly as much as plain Ol' air does, meaning... air pressure remains constant. 2, it has no water vapor in it.. meaning, when your tire experiences extreme temp changes... such as desert heat during the day, and cold nights.. no water builds up inside the tire. which is bad for balancing...also less known.. is what is called O2 bleed down... plain Ol' air can ever so slowly seep thru the rubber... it is VERY SLOW... almost non-existent... Nitrogen does not do this...

So.. if you can get pure nitrogen... it is recommended...

If you can get nitrogen it is fine. If you are paying for that nitrogen you are wasting mod money. My compressor gives high quality O2.
Yep, If I had nitrogen on hand I'd run it, but I don't so I'm going to stick with air. I'd love to have nitrogen to fill my tire though.

I've ran nitrogen in my sportbike because my Nissan dealer did it for free for me even though I was willing to pay. No real visible short term benefit besides its ability to stay stable longer. I will experiment with the stryker seeing that its winter and tire pressure usually drops with the cold. I will se how nitrogen holds up in the cold now. I have access to it here on base but its not free. I don't mind paying for it for my personal experiment. Heck if I can afford to buy the bike, I certainly can afford the $20 or whatever it'll cost for it.

Well for $13.50 per bike for the life of the vehicle, I filled up both bikes today. This was done on the military base on which I reside. Cars/trucks etc $27.
