I've only changed my oil once so far, but it did have the crush ring. It was definitely crushed down very thin, but it was there. Stopped by the dealer to pick up a few from the parts dept. to make sure I had some on hand.Did an oil change today. Thought it odd that I did not have a crush washer on the drain plug. Has anyone else noticed that they did not have a crush washer on the drain plug from the factory?
That's an awesome idea! What size does our Stryker use? I see a listing for 4 different sizes:If you haven't already you might want to replace the stock oil plug with a magnetic one to capture the metal shavings. I do this will all my motors and am surprised what a matnet can catch. Just a thought.

That is a good question - All I can find is that the Drain Bolt is a M14, and should be tightened to 43Nm.That's an awesome idea! What size does our Stryker use? I see a listing for 4 different sizes:
• 10mm/1.5
• 12mm/1.5
• 14mm/1.25

Nice idea and info MN. I'll visit NAPA during my next change. Thanks! To be honest I can't remember the size. I took it down to NAPA and they matched up the size for me with a magnetic plus and some crush washers to use for future oil changes. Checked the bolt head and it doesn't have any markings for size. Wish I could give you more into.
X2,I've changed my oil 3 times now and i just flip the washer around. But next time I will replace with new one and look into getting magnetic plug.I've never changed mine yet though 4 oil changes. The day will surely come though where it will stop sealing.
Came across this while cruising the web and recalled there was a recent convo about this.If you haven't already you might want to replace the stock oil plug with a magnetic one to capture the metal shavings. I do this will all my motors and am surprised what a matnet can catch. Just a thought.
