Hi guys,

I just installed my brand new Mustang Seat. My girlfriend and I are riding a lot together and I felt that she deserved a better seat.

I chose that model. It is kind of cool that this seat is a two part seat, so I can have the solo setup when I’m alone. Adding the passenger seat is a single bolt setup ...can be done in 30 seconds.

I rode it a little this weekend, but I feel that the seat pushes the driver forward too much for my taste. Don't get me wrong those seat are very well made and comfortable ... but I am not sure I like the way the driver is positioned on it.

Any of you guys had the same feeling while trying one?

Many on the Raider forum say the same thing ... and when someone asks how they can get the bars altered to come back, many suggest the Mustang seat as an alternative because it does move them forward a noticeable distance

I have the Mustang Seat on my 950 and love it. Thinking of the Solo Comfort Seat fro the Stryker, but would like to sit on one before I decide, if anyone has one in the DFW area.

Again the seat feel comfortable ... but the position does not feel "chopperish" anymore.

Anyway I might buy the L&M seat pan for my solo every day needs. I can easily live with the mustang on those lover weekends with my girlfriend.

Do what I did, took it down to my local uphosterer dude and he cut out a lot of the back cushion area and put about 1/3 of it back with gel padding. Not sure how he did it but he also repositioned the backrest so I no longer feel like i'm being pushed forward. He ordered a new covering for it and I'll post pics as soon as I get it back.

StrykenShane you have some balls man...I would have a pretty dang hard time letting an upholstery shop hack up a brand new $500+ seat! Glad you're happy with how yours turned out!

I really like the idea. I will ride it for few days and I might take that path. I will keep you guys in the loop.

aproximately how far does it pushes you forward ???? I'm 5'7 and am looking for at least 2-3 inches of either extending the bars back or of moving myself forward because right now with the stock seat I'm riding with my arms completely stretched out and would like to have a little bend at the elbows... so this seat might be what I'm looking for. Also I'm looking to have high back support, which I believe the mustang provides as an accesory piece...

I have the mustang seat with the driver backrest and wide passenger pad. best mod investment ever. I am a short guy about 5 feet 7 inches tall so no problems with feeling pushed forward due to the seat position
Awesome man thanks !!!!

Installed my seat Thursday evening and have ridden about 50 miles and will get out tomorrow with the wife.
It does change your position but I do not feel it objectionable and I figure after about one week I will not notice the difference anymore. The wife can hardly wait to ride and enjoy the ride with a comfortable seat.

I am thinking of going with the Solo Vintage Wide Mustang Seat (76664). I emailed Mustang Seats and that seat is $335. If I do, I will add the Chrome Fender Luggage Rack too.
