I've always had a problem trying to fine stuff to fit my long arms and huge head.

Does anyone know of a vendor that makes a jacket with extra long sleeves. I'm open to Leather or mesh, but would have to be vented leather. It's hard to fine as I'm an XL (42") chest and a 38"\39" sleeve. I have almost given up and may just go custom (ie Fox River Leather), but that is really expensive. Also I haven't seen any customer mesh jacket dealers. I like the mesh idea for summer riding, and am leaning that way at this point.

Also I currently have an HJC CL-14 XXXL helmet. I have a problem with it leaving red marks on my forehead. I collapsed some of the foam at the front to relieve that pressure, but would rather have a helmet that fits right. I heard recently that Arai helmets are what I would want, from two different people. However I don't want to spend $500+ on a helmet. Anyone know of a helmet manufacturer that can fit a large oval head.

I feel ya brother, I have a relatively large noggin myself, I wear cowboy hats a lot and I can only wear long oval ones as the others will give me headaches, I wound up getting the HJC IS-3 and it fits great

I have the same problem with most helmets as I am a medium to long oval as well and it sucks. The vast majority of the manufactures do not make helmets for this shape. The measurement guides state I should be a large at 59cm, but every helmet I try I can only fit into an XL. Egg shaped head in a round bowl mean XL I guess. An online vendor recommended the Arai Signet Q. I tried it and and it was not for me, good thing as I did not want to shell out that much. I found the Scorpion 900 (XL) to not be to bad for around $200, the NEXX X1R1(XL) fit pretty well and it seemed like the quietest and lightest helmet I have every tried ($400) but to be honest the best fitting helmet and most comfortable was the new Shoei NeoTec (L). It is designed for ovals and is the only helmet so far that the XL was to big and I had to step down to a Large.
I will check out the HJC IS-3 StrykenShane recommended, but as of now I have resigned to the fact that I am just going to have to shell out the extra money for the NeoTec so that I can in ride in comfort and not want to get out of the helmet every chance I get.

Yeah, I was going to try the IS-2, Half with drop down sun shade. I was still able to make my HJC more comfortable by tapping down some of the front Styrofoam to make it pinch less. Thanks for the suggestions.

Has anyone told you not to get a big head, BiggTimber? Just kidding. Also, your arms are really long. Did you know that your wingspan is your approximate height. Spread your arms out to the side and measure from fingertip to fingertip. This should be the same as your height. This may not apply to you, however. ;D

For helmets try a gmax or afx. If you live by a place with a lot of helmet choices, I'd say spend a day and find something that fits. Sames with jackets.

There are a few brands of mesh jackets. I got the castle turbine. Joe rocket, icon, scorpion, a few others. I know there are a few threads on sumner jackets. I'm a bit barrel chested so I need a bit bigger chest and smaller arm length. Almost contemplated buying a xl and xxl and swapping sleeves. Might want to check on if anyone has tall sizes.

Yeah, I knew that, and it pisses me off. I should be 6'6" tall like my arms, but the scoliosis from my dads side knocked me down to 6'3".

I've got the same problem when it comes to things fitting. I feel like Mr.Potato Head but in reverse. XXL helmet which at times I think should be a XXXL and long arms, big shoulders/chest and small waist area. Things fit great in the stomach/waist area in a 2X but I have to go with a 3X due to my shoulders and chest. Not a whole lot out there in the big and tall, guess it's a compromise we have to make being above average~ ;) !

Picked up the Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 jacket in XLT today. The sleeves fit great, but when I sit on the bike the torso is too long. It bunches up and pushes the collar into my throat. Going to go back and try on the XL and sit on the bike tomorrow, to see if I need to exchange.
