I had an idea this past weekend that I thought would be a cool forum thread. We have an awesome "What did you do to your Stryker today" thread for new mods and physical bike changes, but also where a lot of people (myself included) also post about the amazing rides they take and places they visit. For instance, J4patrice had some awesome shots of her bike(s) in Chicago this weekend.

I thought it would be cool to have a dedicated thread to share all the great road trips we all take. (On ANY bike.) Because after all the mods, and paint jobs, and chrome... It's all about the ride, right?

On that note... I'll start! My wife and I spent Labor Day weekend putting on just under 500 miles with a road trip to Venice Beach, FL. We made sure to bypass all the interstates and highways and only took the scenic back roads. Then on the way back, in Avon Park, FL, I had to stop and pull over and take a picture of the road sign... Stryker Rd. ;-) I thought that was appropriate for the start of this thread!

Stay safe and enjoy the ride!

All the way to Millwake from Pennsylvania through Detroit,Michigan ,Makinac bridge ,lake Huron ,Superior and Michigan and Back to Pa .3100 miles in 7 days. My Stryker was amazing.
:thumb: The stryker is amazingly comfortable for extended riding. Maybe not for everyone, but for me, I am just thrilled I can spend 12 hours in the saddle without the extreme pain from old injuries that I used to feel riding the 950.

This was my first long ride with my new Mustang seat and backrest. I'll never ride long distance without a backrest ever again.

Same here... for our long rides I am usually packing our sleep system in a duffel on the passenger seat which I pad a little bit with one of toby's sweat shirts and it makes the perfect backrest. I think for little rides (half the day) I will use my backwoods backrest system of a milk crate with a pillow bungee'd to the front of it ;)

Over the Labor Day weekend, we trailered the bikes to Walnut Hills KOA in Staunton VA from PA. One day we drove the entire length of Skyline Drive. Great scenery and wildlife. Saw a small bear along the roadway. Down side, we got caught in a rain storm but found some cover in a rock outcrop by a waterfall. Second day we went south to Natural Bridge and the Virginia Safari Park. The Safari Park was a great place to go if you are an animal lover. Here are a few pictures.

Hubby and I went on a nice trip over the weekend. Headed out to Savannah, IL down by the Mississippi River and Iowa. Went to a popular biker bar called Poopy's. Then left this morning over the mountain (if you can call it that in IL) to Galena, IL. Here are some pics.

Bikes are in the parking lot below.

We went for a nice spin over to the coast sunday, visited with a friend and then wound our way home =) Love riding Hwy 1 ... It stayed sunny for us most the time. We both had stuff on the back seats to give us backrest support, Long days in the saddle really are much better with something to lean on lol

That is right at the spot where Hwy 1 comes out of the mountains and follows the coastline. Those cliffs, that stretch of coast going north, is called the Lost Coast. There is NO drivable road into those hills/coastal headlands.
You can hike down to the northern end of that stretch if you know how to get down to the elk refuge from Whitethorn... I used to ride my horse down there, when I lived on a friend's property up in the hills above that coast line. The bull elk used to come up to the property in the winter time, and try to steal the hay I would feed my horses... lazy buggers.

Well, took a ride with my uncle, cousin, mom and dad up to the flight 93 memorial.

There where a lot of bikes up there. It was a chilly ride up but the sun came out and it was a nice ride back.

Took a ride to Zephyrhills, FL for their quarterly "Music & Motorcycles" bike show. Decided to enter my Stryker in the bike contest and ended up winning one of the "Best of Show" awards! Woo Hoo!

Aelway7 won for his sweet Stryker too!
