I've had my Stryker for seven months now and everything has been great, I love my bike. I just recently noticed that on the bottom of the engine the oil level switch is seeping oil. Its not enough oil to drip onto the ground and it only seems to do it after its been ridden for a while. I am assuming that its only seeping after riding because the oil is hot and it thins out. I have re tightened the two bolts to the spec (7 ft. lbs.) and it made no difference.

I am still under warranty but don't really trust the dealership to do the work as I had a bad experience with them on my previous Yamaha. My next oil change I'm going to switch to a 15W-50 oil as I now use a 10W-40. I am also going to pull the switch and check the O-rings and replace them. Hopefully this will fix the problem.

If anyone has had this problem in the past please let me know what you did to resolve it. Any input is appreciated.

If their is another dealer around take it to them, or call Yamaha and tell them your concerns and they will set up for someone to look at it. It says this in the back of the manual anyway, don't know for sure haven't had any warranty work done.

I ordered the the O-ring from Rocky Mountain ATV and should have it sometime next week. I'll change the oil and o-ring gasket and hopefully this will cease being a problem after that. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It is on the bottom of the engine and has two bolts that hold it in. Page 5-74 of the manual shows it along with the torque settings for the bolts which are 7.2 ft-lb. I have 8,000 miles on my Stryker and this is the first I noticed any leaking, very small amount.
