Noticed a good sized chip today on my tank. Can we get impact blue touch up paint anywhere? Any suggestions on what I should do in the mean time, to prevent rust/spreading

that sucks. i got one right before i painted mine. Maybe use a q tip with some clear coat just to seal it

You can get touch up paint at www.colorrite.com. They have many different applications. I went with the pen & seemed alright. Your paint does list a top & base coat.

So get 2 pens? Or just clear coat after I touch up? I will be painting my bike eventually!

If you are going to get it painted soon, just put a good coat of wax over the chip. If its going to be awhile get a touch pen.

Some of the touch up pens now days, if feel comfortable doing it, apply, wet sand, and clear and you should be good to go.

its such a small nick its silly... I just do not want it to spread or rust. thx for the info

The DAY I noticed a paint chip in my rear fender, I was pissed, but it is what it is. So I went to Dairy Queen and was eating ice cream, flipping through I think Car and Driver, and I saw this! I lol'd

Good Find. I use Dr Chip on my Car, and was thinking I should see if they have Motorcycle colors. But this might be easier

You know what,I got the two pens(paint&clear), followed directions and it looks like an amateur did it because I am. If your going to paint your bike eventually I wouldn't bother getting touch-up pens. I think the pens cost like $50.00 bucks or so, the the body shop down the would have done it for the same price and it would have looked like a professional did it. So unless you really know what your doing,(I don't), have a friend who knows a thing or too about paint or have a body shop do it or just wait till next spring to get new paint job. Maybe I'm not happy with touch-up pens because my chip is smack in the middle of my tank and I see it every time I get on to ride and it just pisses me off . I'll eventually get it fixed right. Just my two cents.
