Found this forum while doing a search on Stryker last night...so new to the forum....and and don't actually have one...... yet....
About ready to get back into riding.......it's been a while.....Been numerous years, used to have a Ninja......May be a midlife crisis thing ;) and recently got the wife's......OK ::)
Looking for a cruiser, but not really sure which bike I'm gonna get......Still in the research stage....The Stryker is currently #1 on the list.......

Saw the Stryker the other day in the shop.......looks pretty sweet,
Went in with my buddy, who just bought a Ninja, to look at a Vulcan (don't want anything too big) , came out loving the Raven Stryker look. My buddy thinks I need at least a 1200......

Thinking about heading over to the....Harley shop  to look at a few of their midsize bikes......And maybe the Yamaha shop to look at the Blue Stryker.....

Hoping to become part of the Stryker family.....but I like to research things a while before buying.........

Any advice and/or reasons to go with the Stryker over others would be appreciated.....

The Joker.....(who used to be wild)

Re: On the fence.....

You will love the Stryker.
The black one has black wheels and little chrome
The red one has black wheels and chrome
The blue one had silver wheels and chrome.

So the blue is one extreme, the black is one extreme, and the red has characteristics of both

Re: On the fence.....

spent the day checking out bikes.....Went to the local Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Harley shops........Didn't see anything that looked as nice as the Black Stryker......the wife loved it's look best too.......
They didn't have the Blue Stryker at the Yamaha shop......only black and red.......Definitely Black.....The owner was very helpful......could pull it down for $9,999, he took off 1K.....$11.6K out the door......Seems like a pretty sweet deal....

Going to call my insurance and see how much it'll be a month.....since I haven't rode in several years, likely be paying more......

Re: On the fence.....

Hey Joker, I rode a 2011 HD Denim FatBob last week. It has a 96CI engine and is no match for the 80CI Stryker. It is much smaller bike than the Stryker and is priced at near 16000.00. Hope this helps

Re: On the fence.....

I debated a hd vs metric for three months and the Stryker chose me. Don't get me wrong hd are nice but the sticker shock is too much to eat when you compare apples to apples. (you can do over 4k on mods and still be fatter in the wallet versus a comparable hd). I also debated the Stryker vs the fury. I chose the Stryker over the fury because of price and the fenders on the Stryker are metal versus plastic. Too much to like about the Stryker! Had mine for about a month now and am more happy with this bike than any other big purchase I've ever made.

Re: On the fence.....

I too contemplated on the Fury and Stryker for a short minute .... but the plastic fenders and the shaft drive of the Fury turned me right off..... then once I knew it was going to be the Stryker for sure,.... then I had to decide between the blue and the Raven .... but the less chrome to keep up with, and the darker I could get my new toy, the better,... so Raven it was. It is nuts how many more ravens are out there now than the other colors.... I do hope that they have new color schemes on the 2012 Strykers.

My first love was the Fury until I saw one in person. Just too much plastic for my taste. Then the Stryker came out and it was "Fury what!?!?!" I had to have one and now do.

Re: On the fence.....

Seems like others I was debating between the Fury and Stryker. The Stryker won because of price, back tire and belt drive. Unlike other the steel to plastic fenders was not a issue. I laugh at people who post this was a reason, because many will then buy a plastic fender as a mod. Steel fender only makes a difference if you are going to take that fender a cut and mod it.

Call me a whacked out nut job....but.... I actually like the metal fenders over the plastic ones! I dunno... all my bikes have always been mostly plastic in the 2000's... I remember when all was metal... I'm actually pissed about some of the plastic crap on my bike to begin with.... I mean, really" that fake plastic chrome?? They couldn't at least make up for the fact it wasn't metal and make it black?
