So I'm thinking about doing some painting of the plastics on my bike and I didn't find (read YES I searched :D ) for what type of paint most of you are using?

Is it rattle cans? Rustoleum? or what??? I want to start with my air cleaner first and see from there.

And I think I found that most of you use 600 grit to wet sand before applying paint. Now do you prime then paint?

Sorry but I'm a COMPLETE Novice with this stuff.

I can tell you what paint not to use... I sanded down my chrome parts with a 200 grit foam sanding block, then sprayed them with Krylon Rust-Tough Enamel (because that's what I had). Then the bike sat through a rain storm followed by a hot humid day, and the paint started to bubble and flake off. After that I went back and read the can, and it didn't say anything about plastics... I plan to redo it with Krylon Fusion and I will also probably lay a coat of primer down first. I do recommend using a larger grit than 600 though.

The can of primer and my daughter said 250-350... She's in auto body.... I sanded, primed, then painted my mirrors and spedo trim and so far have not had any issues. I used krylon primer and grill paint. It ended up being a little darker than the motor.
