I was wondering if you could fill me in on what paint and process you used on the custom Stryker's headlight and speedometer housing. What methods of prep did you use? What kind of paint? Desiree would like to have hers painted satin black, but I want to make sure I get something that's going to hold up against the road debris.

Thanks!

I sent my headlight, speedo cover & ignition cover to Colormania ( http://www.colormaniapaint.com/ ) to get painted in 'Jet Gloss Black'. I'd painted my old VStar myself but I really wanted a professional-looking result that I knew I wouldn't be able to get myself. It wasn't cheap ( $225 ) but the results were awesome. Finish is flawless and it almost looks better than the factory paint job ! Level of service they provided was excellent as well. I'd highly recommend them for anyone who's looking for paint work.

Flem.

The most cost effective way to do this is with flat black spray paint, the key to getting it to stick good is preparation. We sanded the head light with a 600 grit wet, taped off the areas we wanted to keep and primered and sprayed flat black. The paint we used was a high grade trim black for automotive applications. It works good hold up well and easy to repair if needed.
Hope that helps! Sorry we missed you at the show.
