I really liked the way it looked on some of the other bikes out there, so I decided to paint most of the chrome pieces black. I didn't want my bike to look like everyone elses though, so I built a one of a kind custom exhaust. I used the stock headers wrapped in DEI header wrap, and a universal slip-on muffler painted black. At first I was very disappointed by the muffler because of the way it sounded. With the baffle in it was too quiet, and without the baffle it was too hollow sounding. So I went to a car parts store and bought a 12" piece of 2.5" I.D. car exhaust pipe and made my own baffle. The bike sounds awesome, I can feel a significant increase in power, and I'm definitely satisfied with the way that it looks. Let me know what you guys think.

Came out nice.....But for me I will probably invest in some pipes. Prefer the blacked out look on the raven over the chrome!

I like the black, I will paint my chrome pieces one of these days.

Great idea for the exhaust, but the pipes look so skimpy without the heat shield . But it isn't my bike and if you like it that is all that counts.

Your pipes need some help. Unwrap them and put the heat sheilds back on. Now rewrap them with ur header wrap and respray the wrap flat black. This should really help the headers.
Now for the silencer. It looks small on the bike. Try a larger muffler, maybe 2" larger in diameter but run the factory heat shield that covers the header/muffler merge and wrap that with header wrap too.
I like bikes with header wrap.
Ur close man...keep workin and you'll save yourself 5hundy..

Way to step out and be creative, I agree with most on the pipes but it's your bike and if ya dig it that's all that matters

That was my original idea. But like you said the muffler is too small. The problem is that I completely love the sound. Is has a perfect rumble at idle, a deep growl at cruising speed, and it demands attention when I get on it. I also got that sound for only $120...

Fasten a piece of 4" exhaust around the outside of the muffler. Diesel guys use that stuff..
