So I have my group buy package arriving today......

I'm going to want to paint the chin scoop and front fender to match.....I plan on getting the colorite aerosol complete package, which supposedly includes at least 1 can of raven paint and 1 can of UCA150 clear coat, among other items....but when I go to check out my cart I get a note that I might need to use KK7 Urethane High Gloss Clear Coat

I want to buy an extra can of paint and clear coat, but which clear coat should I be getting the KK7 or the UCA150 which is included in the kit. Seems odd that the aerosol complete package would include the UCA150, if I should be using the KK7

Has anyone else ever ordered the Colorite paint? If you can provide any info it would be helpful.

I was hoping to get some responses in the Stickied Colorite paint thread, but since there's not much activity there, figured a new post would get me the info I need before ordering.

Thanks....

Thanks......

So just so I'm clear, for the the Raven we'd order this version to match the tank and fenders (which could be used for the chin scoop)
Yamaha 0903 Black Metallic X (SMX)
SKU # : 5245
Vendor : ColorRite
Manufacturer : Yamaha
Manufacturer Code : 0903
I'm thinking if I order the Aerosol Complete Repair Package I should be able to easily paint the LM chin scoop and front fender that I don't have yet. (if that would be enough I don't know??? )
Thats the right base coat but you'll need a clear coat on top. Make sure to get the proper type. If you're shelling out the $$ for the matching base you might as well get they're clear coat as well. That way you can be sure it will work. On the chin scoop you'll will difinitly want to protect it from stone chips

I was about to order the same kit! I will hold off until you can give us an update. Have you called Colorite and asked any questions?
Been traveling overseas so I have not called yet, but just got off plane so will be calling
Joker/SFCMcGan

Did either of you end up following through with calling Colorite?

Yes, I called them.

Talked to a tech guy over phone, he said UCA150 clear coat would work fine for everything except the gas tank, KK7 clear coat should be used for that.

I have not painted my chin scoop or fender yet, but have installed them, the black is close enough to the raven black, but I need to follow up on painting, just been too busy with work and family.

I ordered the colorite paint for the Raven about a week ago... it did not ask me about the additional clear coat... After the weather dries up some... it is painting time!

Hi guys,

anyone used the Colorite painting yet? I would like to know if someone had good result. I feel that some of us used it already but no one reported back ...

For the L&M front fender and the chin scoop ...would I need 1 can of paint ...or 2?
