I've been wanting to cover the exposed portion of the fork tubes between the triples for some time now, just been trying to come up with an idea on how. Well, it finally hit me while I was in my local gun shop the other day picking up a new rifle, paracord! Not only would it look pretty sweet it could serve a purpose if I ever ended up stranded somewhere and needed some rope for survival, I've now got about 50' stashed away on those fork tubes. Anyway, here is a quick shot of how it looked, started getting dark by the time I finished up.

Looks great, I'm just wondering what it will be like to clean the bugs out of them.

Not sure of the long-term effects on your bike, but 550 cord does tend to stay pretty wet once it gets that way. If you get caught in the rain or accidentally spray them on a good wash, you might consider taking the cord off and drying it out... or you could take some kind of plastic wrap/contact paper and put it on the chrome under the paracord...
