I am not looking forward to storing my ride for the winter here in Maine, but as I made my way to work this morning the 28 degree weather tells me the time is near to do so, anyone else have this same dreaded reality starting to set in?

Yes. I ride on Sunday probably for the last time until spring. I don't have the opportunity to ride to work and unfortunately, here in Chicago, today it is suppose to hit almost 80. But this weekend it will be down to 40. I think it is definitely time to put it away for the winter. :(

Yeah, Illinois weather is all over the place. 77 today then 30s on Saturday. I'm going to look at getting a cover here next week, and call it quits.

Our riding drops off dramatically over the winter but we try to ride at least once per month. As was said last winter was very mild in PA and we only had snow in October. I don't think we are going to be that lucky this year.

Spent my last chances to ride hauling horses last Saturday down to Upper Lake for the winter. Because a big storm was on it's way. So we decided to do that now instead of later this month. Spent Sunday securing everything here and finishing the goat barn so the goats have a place to have their kids in the next 4 months or so. 3 pregnant ones. Glad I did all that because Sunday night the storm hit and hasn't stopped yet and it's Wednesday. No snow here yet but 1 mile up the road there is already a half foot or so.Just a matter of time before it drops down here. We usually find some warm enough days once a month throughout the entire winter to ride as long as the plows have come up the hill. But this will be the first winter we park the bikes for at least three months because I go in for neck surgery in 2 weeks and wont be able to get back on the bike for at least 3 months. :'( That puts it into February before I can ride again and we usually have 3 weeks in February that's warm enough to ride even though there is several feet of snow either direction from my house. Makes for some awesome scenery. Water falls everywhere.
But I think this is our last winter we will spend in these mountains. We are looking at property near Las Vegas. If that doesn't happen we are going to throw the bikes in the toy hauler and head south for the winter. 8)

Tomorrow is probably my last hurrah for the year. Forecast doesn't look good after that, and November in Michigan isn't going to get any warmer. Time for the Sta-bil. :'(

Very scenic riding around las Vegas, I'm heading out there tomorrow for PBR with some friends, we'll probably rent a handful of bikes Saturday and ride to Bakersfield, CA just for fun, I've done it before and it's a nice ride, probably rent horses for a day trip one day as well, I love Vegas in the fall

If New England winter is anything like last winter, I will be out all winter!

I wish I was out this weekend when it was almost 70

I don't totally give up until we get the wonderful NYS salt trucks here for the first time in the season when the roads get icy. Then it will be parked till spring when we have had enough rain to wash the winter salt off. Usually April. Last year I rode still in early December till they salted. Supposed to be in the mid 70's tomorrow, but cold and rainy all weekend.
