For mounting a PU Passenger seat to the PU solo seat, the front of passenger seat screws down onto rear bracket for solo seat. Must first slide passenger seat into rear loop on rear fender.

I just mounted the PU wide pillion to the PU solo seat... the pillion was easy to mount, but I had a heck of a time with the solo seat getting it to "latch" under that tab and then click and lock into place.

Did you have any difficulties?

I also had a difficult time with the solo seat. I don't have the pillion seat yet but am looking to get. Do you have a backrest? If so, which one. I have the short QR. Just wondering if it will work with that.

I had to add a couple of washers under the seat lock bracket to bring it "down" to make it a bit easier to lock... I couldn't get it lock down otherwise... it is still extremely snug! You would think for something that expensive that they would have come up with something better.

I've got the fixed tall backrest.... here is a pic looking down on the backrest and the wide pillion... fits nice. Though I think I remember the dealer saying it would probably not work with the short. Just the tall.

Me too!! I ended up putting a washer under the latch on seat so that it would stick into bike latch far enough to latch. Glad it was just not me!!

I ordered the same seat and pillion, prior to the order i emailed parts unlimited and asked if it would work with my standard cobra backrest. I was assured it would. I should have everything tomorrow, i will advise how i make out.

so I received my front solo and rear passenger pillion today. these are part numbers 0810-1305 and 0810-1311. Per an email from parts unlimited I was informed these seats would work with a cobra standard backrest. Unfortunately they do not. The pillion is not able to be latched onto the rear fender clip at all as it hits the backrest.

fortunately my local dealer was awesome and is returning it for me without a restocking fee, I have sent the dealer the email so they in turn will not be charged the restocking fee.

Cobra backrests are shaped too close to fender to use wide pillion passenger seats. My Star tall qr is close enough to lightly touch seat but not harm it.

Unfortunately i found this out the hard way. They ordered me the yamaha dual comfort cruise seat to "try". If it fits and i like it great, if not then no return fee. Hope it works well, this seat hunting sucks. Would have bought the mustang, but dont want to be pushed forward, i like the corbin looks but the last one i had was awful uncomfortable to me.

The comfort cruise seat has great back support. Does raise passengers height a little more than other brands, and it most likely work with the Cobra backrest.

The Parts Unlimited seat iv got, is pretty nice. the only position change I can tell is that I'm sitting up straighter... not forward, or higher... but I can tell that I'm not so "slouched" as on the OEM. Now the seat is new, so I've got to break it in, hoping it will soften up a bit and conform to my tush.

Unfortunately, the mustang seat also has a lot of interference with a backrest (I have experience).

Now I thought it was just me. I have PU solo and the OEM fender rack. I thought it was the combination of the bolt heads and the rack from keeping the seat from latching. I used a pair of pliers to persuade the bracket into a slightly better position. I still have to use a little pressure to get it latched up but once its locked its on there solid.

Oh I hear ya! I almost thought about bending that dern bracket at a slight angle to just make it easier to slip in under there, but thought, I don't want to make it so it's loose either... but dang!

The more i read about the parts unlimited seats the more turned off i get about them. **** saddlemen, wish they made an explorer seat for this bike

The PU Low solo and wide passenger seat is the best I have had on my Stryker.

I understand that you love them, but if you were a potential purchaser it doesnt look good. Does anyone have any experience with the factory yamaha comfort seats?
