Hey guys,

Long time reader, first time account activation/poster. I bought my Stryker 3 weeks ago, and i'm loving the 2011 copper red Stryker! Not a ride goes by that someone doesn't roll down the window at a stop light and say how awesome the bike is.

My wife and I love to ride the Stryker, but for her it's not as comfortable as i'd had hoped. I bought a passenger peg relocation kit for the pegs to be lowered 4 inches. This has made it easier on rides not lasting longer than 30 minutes, but we are still having issues with longer rides. My main question is, will a back rest be worth picking up to further help the comfort for her? Just spending as much as I did on the Stryker, just making sure these small changes will be worth it in the end.

If passenger comfort is your main goal, then another seat and backrest should probably be on your top 3 list of upgrades.

So the stock seat isn't basically crap eh? It actually doesn't feel bad for me at all, but i could see how the small seat in back could suck.

I'll try to look up some decent seat and passenger back rest prices.

Really i'm a bit surprised how little I want to change the stock Stryker for myself. I was considering the Cobra Slipons, but i'm digging the stock sound for now. It's not Harley sounding, but it has a nice soft rumble to it.

When I bought my Stryker in December, passenger comfort was not even considered. I bought it for me as a solo bike. My wife will be more comfortable on my other bikes. She hasn't ridden with me since July 4th, and that was briefly.

Nice Fizz. My wife just completed her course for her M License, but she loves to ride with me on the Stryker.

Does anyone know how close the back rest High Chrome is? The pics look super far back away from the seat: http://www.starmotorcycles.com/star...il/5/534/2214/20693/all/1/10261/0/detail.aspx

If it's as bad as this pic shows, then there is no way it could be used.
I believe the picture shown is with the solo seat! I have the tall back rest on my bike and at times I have to reach back and make sure that she is still on. It is not only comfortable for her but for you as well! I highly recommend it if she is going to be riding with you!

Thank you for the info! My 1st priority is to make sure she starts to enjoy the longer rides with me. I'll get this back rest, and see if things improve. Then maybe i can splurge on some Slip Ons :).

Also look into a good aftermarket seat. A back rest is great but with the factory seat her ass will still go numb. My GF was good for about 50 miles on the stock seat. Now with the corbin shes good for an all day trip. And with the heat option she doesnt have to stop as much when its a bit colder outside.

The tall back rest & a better seat (I installed a Mustang seat) keep my wife happy even on 200 mile day trips.

The passenger seat is a bit bigger & way more padding than stock seat.

What mustang seat is that? I'll add that to the wish list :).

Amazon has a decent price:

Back rest is a must and peg extensions. That's all I did and wife was comfortable for a ride to Frisco and back. 5 and a 1/2 hr ride one way. Tall or short both look far back in pictures. I had the same concern. But they are not. I got the short IMO looks better on the bike. Wife said it was just as comfortable as the tall that we have on the 950.

Hey guys my wife is having the same issues. I have the tall back rest and her but still goes numb. She is only good for about 30 miles. What are these peg extensions and where can i get some? She also says her knees hurt on longer rides. Will floorboards help and can they be lowered?

I got these: http://www.cycle-istic.com/PegExtenders.html. They drop down about 4 inches, and you keep your original mounts. Tip though, the original pegs will NOT fit unless you take out the rubber washer just on the pegs. Was under 100 for shipping to Champaign. You just call them and was at my house in 2 days.
