so i was researching the lighting laws for motorcycles in pa, and the law was amended in 2006 apparently. the law for lighting states (sect. 4310) that no motorcycle in the commonwealth need have turn signals.. i thought this was wierd but thats what it says, so id assume i could put on aftermarket or non DOT approved signals on and have no problem.

heres the big one , any lighting that will help make the rider more visible shall be permitted including blue dot led, and led strip lighting.. i always thought that it was illegal here like many other states but guess not..

now im going to have to go shop for led's ;D

all info came directly from the pa dmv site where all the laws are posted.. one guy ive heard of printed off the 4310 portion of the book and stuck it in his wallet just for that reason... laws change all the time, according to the info these law were ammended in '06. makes sense tho, the more you r visible the safer u should be.

p.s.
my cousin is a pa police officer too, i shall have to ask him what he thinks....

where is kilo ? he's the PA police officer on the forum. I have a friend that got stopped because of riding with LED's in Pittsburgh and got a ticket last year. But I read somewhere that they weren't illegal.

Thanks Christopher...I just got mine in the mail and getting ready to put them on and after this post I started to wonder if they were allowed. Now I don't have to play stupid if I get pulled over. (not that it would be very hard)
